Summary: When Zelda arrives soaking wet to a ceremony, her husband Pippin tries to help, and the two get to know each other a little better.
Setting: Zelpip! :D About ten years after OoT, so Zelda is 20. The pair began their arranged marriage about a month ago.
It wasn't Zelda's lucky day.
She'd wanted to patrol the perimeter to the Gerudo Desert after the increased activity with Hyrulian soldiers. She'd been concerned that perhaps reports were inaccurate, or her general was downplaying the issue, as he often did to try and appease her. Although Zelda knew her top general was loyal to death, he often still viewed her as the little princess who wandered the halls of the castle.
She was not that little girl anymore. And even at that age, she'd been willing to step up and do her part, get her hands dirty. She'd wanted to. She didn't like lingering about the castle in her fancy dresses, ordering others about without ever doing anything herself.
But she hadn't expected the absolute downpour that had fallen from the sky on her way back to the castle.

OK with every entry I officially love the Zelpip timeline more. What are Pippen's thoughts on other major players in Hyrule like Nabooru, Ruto, Darunia, Impa, Saria, Link, Malon? Based off the last snippet you posted I guess things aren't good between Nabooru and either half of Zelpip, unless right now the Gerudo Third (The one who gives Link the Gerudo Pass) is the one in charge. Saria I could see Pippen not knowing exists. He definitely knows about Impa given she was Zelda's shadow for ages. Ruto and Darunia are each the leaders of their respective races so as the king consort he probably has to maintain cordial relationships with them. Does he ever misunderstand the relationship between Link and Zelda? I mean those two do have a serious bond, one that's platonic mind you, but I could see some insecurity from Pippen maybe since Link seems to know Zelda better and she seems to tell him her secrets more. This is all me just speculating but I'm curious
I’m so happy you’re enjoying it! :D I have no thoughts or plans about this timeline I’m discovering it as y’all are lol. But also it’s fun having an arranged marriage royal couple that isn’t quite as much of a mess 🤣 (RIP Power and Diplomat, I love you too but yikes your first decade of marriage is rough)
Pippin does know a few of the major players, yes. :) Saria never became a sage in the child timeline so he doesn’t know her or any of the Kokiri. He’s met Ruto and Darunia a few times.
Darunia is very welcoming to Pippin, a little overwhelmingly so for him. Pippin is used to being in the spotlight due to his station but he prefers keeping things as low key as possible, and Darunia likes to dance and yell to try and cheer Pippin and make him feel welcome. It’s a sincere effort but Pippin wants to melt into oblivion half the time 😂 But he appreciates the warmth of the Gorons.
Meanwhile, Ruto is a little judgy and snobby. She’s civil, of course, but she makes Pippin feel like he’s constantly under scrutiny. He can deal with it well enough, but he isn’t a fan. And then, a few years into their interactions, Ruto suddenly decides he’s all right. Pippin is exasperated.
As for Link and Zelda, initially Pippin doesn’t care all that much, but as he and Zelda have children together and the two become fond of each other, Pip is a little upset that she and Link have to spend so much time together. But also, as Link and Zelda spend time together, Malon nudges in and drags the royal family to the ranch every once in a while. That’s farther down the road though.

Pippin felt a little strange in the royal gardens.
He was still trying to figure out where everything was in this castle, honestly. But the gardens were strangely central in the castle - back home they were hidden away towards the back of the estate, while here they were scattered amid courtyards, interwoven with the castle like a tapestry.
It made him feel very watched, like a bird in a cage or a horse in a pen.
His eyes roamed the area as he clutched the book he was going to read—a gift from his sister—and he caught sight of some movement. When he leaned forward, he saw a grasshopper leap into the air, making him jump a little, before he sighed in relief.
Maybe he should just go read in his quarters.

Zelda wiped the sweat off her brow, feeling overwhelmed by the desert heat. She wouldn’t let it stop her, though - after the assault on Castle Town she’d sworn she’d fight off the Gerudo herself.
Determined, Sheik strode ahead, the rest of her team at her back.
Your OOT & MM continuation is so interesting to me I love it so much in your story why did link become the heroes shade what baggage and regrets did he have

I mean, I’m sure he still has baggage from his adventures. He’ll be kind to anyone but he hardly opens up to anybody. He doesn’t know how to handle what happened to him. But I think his biggest regrets in canon were related to not being able to ensure Hyrule’s continued safety, for whatever reason.
Perhaps when he revealed Ganondorf’s treachery it started a lifelong conflict between Hyrule and the Gerudo. Ganondorf was imprisoned in the dungeons after the initial accusation, and perhaps skirmishes broke out intermittently, but nothing huge until ten years later when Link and Zelda were like 19/20 or something, when the Gerudo led a full assault to rescue their king. War broke out, Hyrule inevitably won, but when Ganondorf was going to be executed and subsequently vanished beyond a trace Link probably vowed to find him and never could. Given his baggage from his adventures already, an unresolved/empty victory would likely bother him a lot.
Throw in some other stuff, who knows, I’m sure he’s got reasons to have some serious regrets.
