Emesis Blue is a surreal horror TF2 fanfilm made entirely in source filmmaker and it goes extremely hard. We're a huge fan of surreal and experimental media (one of our favorite animated films is Cat Soup) so it is INCREDIBLY up our alley. Any good surreal film has you watching multiple times to pick up the scattered pieces of a plot and Emesis Blue pulls this off extremely well. You understand what's going on well enough the first watch but it takes a few to really piece things together and start deconstructing the themes of cycles of violence + corruption, and how deep-rooted the motifs are; you obviously pick up on how the medic's repeat reincarnations play into the themes first watch through, especially if you pick up on how he gets increasingly more calculated in his violence each time he's brought back, but the the allegory of reincarnation as a cycle of violence is also present in the soldier's many clones and the spy becoming mutilated and wearing a prosthetic face as the pyro did.

Its one of those things I could talk about and unpack for hours but I really think its something everyone should watch for themselves at least once. It's easy enough to follow even if you arent into TF2 (you will miss some in-jokes and references, but the plot itself is easy enough to pick up on from what's given to you) so i do recommend it to just about anyone who likes their horror in the form of a puzzle feeder LMAO

I rambled enough in this response so I'll keep my final part brief - I still need to catch up on more modern stuff but as of now overall my favorite TF2 horror thing is Hoovydundy. We're very insane about Hoovydundy in a way that would require another rant entirely /silly. Since you didn't specify horror though shoutout to the FNAF vs TF2 videos and Requiem For A Pizza those are like comfort food to me I rewatch them whenever I need a laugh

Awkwardly given the current state of relations between the USSR and the US, he has a strong interest in political theory, thanks to his late father. He's extremely well-read on the topic and every time casual politics conversation comes up he's biting his tongue because he knows he won't be able to articulate himself as well as he wants

The way he insults people on the field and the way he shows verbal affection are like. Entirely interchangeable aside from tone. And if you don't know him well his tone can be hard to read. So sometimes it just sounds like he's insulting his lover(s) and only they get it LMAO

Any very small and fuzzy animal melts him instantly. He tries to hide this. He's bad at hiding it

He's fine with drinking but he HATES being drunk. While he will be verbally annoyed about drunk people he DOES have the patience of a saint around them. He's like the team babysitter during celebrations because of this + the fact that a chunk of the mercs tend to get WASTED whenever alcohol is involved. (Everyone figured Engie would fit the babysitter role until they discovered his tendency towards getting Really mopey whenever he has one too many)

Dozes off during the day, world's lightest sleeper at night. Something in his room creaks and now he has to spend another 20 minutes falling back asleep

More a Soldier headcanon but I feel like Solly's memorized the names Heavy calls his guns and refers to them exclusively as such. Probably wonders why his rocket launcher hasn't told him its name yet

oaughdhfh hard question mostly because i like a LOT about it. maybe hornet herself? she has a LOT of personality on show here from the hunter's log stuff and just own personal thoughts and reasons why she's doing sidequesty things. the way she interacts with the world and how the world interacts with her kinda deal.
