spent last week diving into the year zero websites + audio files and it's genuinely so cool + freaky as hell. i had to stop looking at it for a hot minute when i took an edible for fear it would feel even more eerie in its timeliness.

yes, there are definitely silly bits that have aged in a funny way due to the real life 2022 being more technologically advanced than the simpler html websites, but damn does a lot of it feel like it could've been written today (especially the leftist resistance infighting on the forums lmao)

the effort put into it was insane; just the crossover to real life that feels like one of the truly most successful args of all time. so much of year zero and the social experience of it was physical! buttons that led to in-game message boards!!

id love to be able to pick trent's current brain about it; clearly he's been revisiting the catalog lately and picked YZ the most of any album to highlight on the Noize release, but i'd love to know what he really thinks about it now
