Y'all I scroll through the case file compendium tag every now and then to read spoilers, and I wish I could write an essay on the many similarities between Mo Ran and He Yu and how they're presented differently (loneliness, trauma [it's fascinating to see how MR wasn't really aware of some of his own traumas until book 2 because reasons, while HY seems to be hyper aware of them. Which makes sense, considering how he needs to have full control of himself 24/7 also bc reasons], the not acknowledged sexual attraction towards their partner and how they act on it *cough*, the power relationship between them and the need to overturn and compensate that lack of power... The list goes on and on) like, come fucking on, they're so alike yet so different and I'm so fucking here for it.
