oh aki is definitely shaking his head and telling you to stop being so ridiculous.... he's blushing like crazy, clearly a nervous, shaky wreck when he tries to go back to making dessert — he's dropping things everywhere, he keeps swearing under his breath every time he messes up.

Cornbread to go with the chili my dad made (unfortunately not pictured, it was a beaut). Cornbread is the one baked good I make that I almost never use a recipe for or measurements and I just dump all the ingredients in a rough estimate and stir. Because of this it turns out pretty different every time but I don’t mind because it’s basically a long experiment that is helping me figure out more things about baking than just cornbread (like what too many eggs will do).

I used molasses and sugar in this cornbread (never used molasses before, only honey which is delicious) and at first I wasn’t a fan of it when it came out of the oven but now that it’s sat I am quite enjoying it. I like my cornbread slightly sweet but not cake like. I didn’t add enough sweeteners to get it to the level I normally like it at but the lack of sweetness is actually pretty enjoyable (at least as a midnight snack, which is when I took this picture).
