Simon's Month 2024 Prompts List
Our second event is here and this time, we are celebrating Simon on his birthday month, July! We hope you are as excited as us for this!
The goal of this event is to encourage people to create with Simon, our birthday boy, as the main focus.
To participate, it’s pretty simple. There is a prompt for each day of the month of July. Create something out of that prompt and post it on the corresponding day. Prompts can be merged together and you can post days later, we only ask to not post ahead of schedule. We will reblog your posts during the whole duration of the event, so from July 1st to July 31st.
We accept all sorts of things! Fanfictions, fanart, drabbles, gif sets, edits, headcanons, moodboards, analysis, anything! You can also include a wip, new or old, if it fits!
You can also post to the AO3 collection.
Guidelines:
Use the tag #simonmonth2024 when posting and tag us in the post (@youngroyals-events);
Indicate which prompt you are using;
Indicate any warnings if there are any;
Adult content is accepted but should be properly tagged (we will use #nsfw when reblogging);
Post on the day of the prompt or after, not before;
Other characters can be included, but Simon should be the main focus.
If there are any questions regarding the guidelines or on how to participate, feel free to send us an ask!

Wille arrived at the cafe they told Simon to meet them at over a half an hour early. Nerves had kept them up for most of the night . Their head was constantly formulating different ways that this conversation could go. One minute they’d be imagining that Simon would be okay with it, understanding why Wille hadn’t told him. Then the next moment, they couldn’t stop thinking of the possibility that this could be their last conversation with him. That maybe all of the lies that were used to keep their identity a secret would be too much.
They ordered their drink and then found a table in the back corner of the shop. It was next to a window overlooking the street and was far enough from the rest of the customers in the shop that it provided a sense of privacy that they needed if they were going to tell Simon. Wille watched as the people passed, wondering where they’re off too or what was going on in their life.
Time seemed to slow as they waited for Simon to arrive. They pulled out their phone to check the time. 7:48am. Nerves continue to fill their body. While they waited, they texted Erik and told him that they were waiting on Simon. Erik texted back reminding Wille to breathe, that it would all work out in the end, and telling them good luck. He always had a way of reading Wille and knowing exactly what they needed to hear.
Just as they set their phone down, they heard the bell above the front door ring. Their head turned towards the sound just in time to see Simon walk in. As he entered, he saw Wille in the back corner and gave them a small wave. Wille waved back, nerves spiking.
He quickly ordered a drink of his own and took the seat across from Wille.
Wille took one more deep breath as Simon got settled. It’s now or never.
“Hey.” Wille breathed as Simon sat across from them. They take a moment to just look at Simon. The way his curls fall in front of his face. The way his smile suits his face perfectly. The way that he is so effortlessly beautiful. The way everything about him is absolutely perfect.
“Hi.” Simon said. The smile on his face grows. “I missed you.”
His words make Wille’s heart hurt. They know that there is a chance that they are about to ruin everything with the person they love.
“I missed you too, Simon.” Wille replied and it’s the truth. They miss him whenever he’s not by their side. It’s that fact that is making this worlds harder for them.
“Are you okay?” Simon asked them. “It seems like something’s off with you this morning.” Of course he could tell. He was able to read Wille, even though they had only known each other for a couple of months. In those months he had learned all of Wille’s tells and the little idiosyncrasies about them.
“I actually needed to talk to you about something.” The words leave their mouth slowly as if everything is telling them to not say them. As much as they really don’t want to, if they want any sort of future with Simon they know that they have to do this.
“Oh? Is everything okay?”
“I lied.” They start, not sure how to do this. “So, when I said I actually read the book before. I mean, I have read it but that wasn’t the whole truth.”
Simon stays silent now. Both because he’s not sure what to make of what Wille is saying and out of confusion, giving them space to continue speaking.
Just as they’re about to tell him, the words get caught in their throat. They sit on the tip of their tongue unable to be spoken. A silence hangs above Wille and Simon, waiting for someone to make a move.
It’s a few moments until Wille finally gathers the courage. Sitting on the ground next to their chair was a bag, their backup plan in case this happened. They reach down and pull something out immediately placing it in front of Simon. Before they can change their mind and convince themself out of it.
The word “Lightbound” stares up at Simon from the table.
“What is this?” Simon asked.
“It’smy book.” they answer, looking up at Simon for the first time since setting the book on the table. Confusion sits in Simon’s eyes, he hasn’t put the pieces together yet. Wille can’t help but chuckle at that.
“What?” Simon asked again.
“My book.” Wille stated, feeling like the whole conversation was the same thing on repeat. “I wrote it. I wrote the first one too,” they continue, deciding to add some more context.
They can see the moment that Simon finally understands. Something in his eyes changes. From confusion to what appears to be hurt in the matter of seconds. Wille feels like they’re watching their own nightmare play out right i front of their face.
“You…” Simon started, unable to say the words he wanted to.
“Me.” Wille confirmed, their voice is small like they don’t want what they’re saying to be true, part of them wishing they could restart everything. Unfortunately, life doesn’t work that way.
“Why didn’t you…” Simon gathered more of what he wanted to say. “I understand why you didn’t tell me at first but why did you keep lying to me?”
“I’m sorry, Simon.”
“I can’t believe you.”
“I’m sorry.” They don’t know what else to say to Simon. The person sitting at the table with them is almost unrecognizable compared to the person that first walked in. The Simon there now seems closed off, distant.
“I can’t do this.”
Wille doesn’t even try to protest as Simon walks away, the copy of Lightbound still in hand. They sit there, helpless until Simon is gone and out of sight.
This was somehow worse than all of Wille’s bad outcomes combined. And this actually happened.
synopsis: anonymity was something that had always been a top priority for wilhelm. keeping their personal life and their author life entirely separate. that was, until they met simon. anonymity slowly began feeling like lies and it was only a matter of time until it all came tumbling down.

the winner takes it all
Do you ever think about how years later when wilmon are already happily established as boyfriends Kristina can just call Simon whenever Wille is being a bitch to her like
"Hello, yes, could you please come over and help Wilhelm get down from his wardrobe, he might listen to you"
"You've never felt quite at home" You play your music too loud,
You don't look at people in crowds,
You can't seem to make a connection.
You know this isn't where you belong.
You know you shouldn't be here,
It feels wrong & unfair to be trapped like this.
You need to get out and you don't know why.
One day, you will find a way.
