Writing Update
I hope everyone has been doing well! We've been doing our best here.
I've seen all of your lovely comments on my fics on AO3, specifically Perilous Harbor and Darkest Winter, and I want you to know how much it means to me. I love you and I love when you leave me feedback.
However, I am unfortunately on a writing hiatus for at least the next month.
If you've been around for the last few years, you probably guessed this when I didn't post my regular monthly updates in January and February. But I have had a lot of new readers lately and I wanted to address you about it!
Bottom line: I will not be abandoning any of my fics!
For those of you that are curious about my 2022 and why I'm on hiatus:
In early January I got pleurisy and was on bedrest for two weeks until that infection cleared up. 0/10, would not recommend.
The week after I recovered, we visited my in-laws in San Diego! That was lovely and perfect and sooo incredibly inspiring. I actually wrote a lot the few weeks after getting home.
Then in mid-February I caught COVID after two years of being the most meticulous human being in the entire planet. I caught it from my local public library, where I was masked and even used hand sanitizer when I walked in and out the building, then washed my hands when I got home. Apparently, harm can come from reading a book. I am still sick as I write this post on March 5th.
Then I GOT A JOB! Like, a real, big girl career job. I start that on April 11th, and in the meantime I will be moving from the Southeast to the Pacific Northwest. Wish me luck.
I finish my master's degree literally 7 days from today!!!!!! I am a Credentialed Bitch™️
Obviously this is all a lot happening in a short amount of time, and there was a lot of bad with a lot of good. I haven't given up on any of my writing. There are huuuge things coming in Perilous Harbor, Darkest Winter, Yours Affectionately, and A Dangerous Game once I get settled in the PNW, and I will be resuming Blood & Magic as well. The first update will likely be Darkest Winter or A Dangerous Game, with Yours Affectionately close behind. Perilous Harbor is at a huge plot twist and I want to get it right, so she will take time.
Thank you to everyone for your lovely comments, reviews, encouragement, and interest in my stories these last few weeks! They mean more than you know and theyre the reasons I always come back! Special shout out to user flailgirl on AO3 because your reviews made me cry when I really needed them last week. Expect to see me back in late April or early May, but I can sometimes be unpredictably early so you may get a surprise at some point. I don’t make the rules. I'd love to post something for you on my birthday though (May 1) ❤
