Rin x Awase with #20 if thatâs alright I love these two and I havenât been able to find much of anything for them, rip
Iâve never⊠thought about them together ! Time to experiment !
âAwase ? Arenât you-â
âWOAH-WOah-woah dude ! Stop lurking like that youâre gonna start becoming Kuroiro !â
âIs that a bad thing ?â
Rin waves his legs in thin air, clutching Shiozakiâs hand-made plaid in his lap and fiddling with the cup of tea in his hands. He didnât sleep, like most of the time, and by now Awaseâs surprise seemed even more ridiculous as he was nearly always here on the couch.
Blinking, he watches Yousetsu pass a hand through his messy jet-black hair and let out a shaky breath. Rin opens and closes his mouth like a koi fish, starting his question but interrupting it because; that would be inappropriate.
âI need a drink,â the torch wielder whispers, hunched over the low table. His voice sounds weird, but Rin is very respectful and stays silent.
âThere is some green tea left from Tsuburaba.â He announces calmly, gesturing to the pot and shiny cup. âHe was here a few minutes ago, I forced him to leave and sleep. He doesnât like storms, and it seems that one is going to start soon.â Right on queue, thunder sweetly rolls and Awase peeks up. âI hope he is asleep. I hate it when he panics.â
âSame.â Awase picks up the cup, pouring some tea. Rin watches closely the long and trembling fingers, frowning.
The tea is in his hands is nearly cold when it touches his lips. He tells himself not to care too much about the black haired boy seated at the table and closes his eyes.
âItâs raining.â Awase remarks after a few seconds, obvious pitter patter of the raindrops hitting the roof. Rin puts the cup down, rubs his hands together.
He didnât like storms, not really. They didnât scare him, the thunder clapping and blinding lightning werenât terrifying for him like they were for other people. Still, he didnât exactly appreciate seeing the sky all dark and the clouds puffing angrily.
Made him feel small.
He grabs the blanket closer, throws it awkwardly on himself and curls his feet around it. Then he realizes he forgot Awase, stares at him and remarks in the split-second of a lightning that his face is shining.
Shining ?
âAwase, did you drop tea on your face ?â He asks worriedly, kicking the plaid out and shivering in the cold. âItâs burning ! Are you alright ?â He crawls on the floor, grabs the other oneâs arm and upon no reaction, waits for one.
Lightning strikes again, same blinding flash drowning them both. Awaseâs eyes are closed.
âIâm-Iâm fine.â He rubs his forearm on his face, shoulder falls and thumps on Rinâs cheek. The Chinese boy lowers his head, pondering.
This time, he wonders if he should ask. He should, but what if Awase doesnât want to answer ? No. No he wouldnât.
So instead he grabs the plaid and wraps it around his friend, then realizing it is too small to cover his seating form and since he doesnât want to ask him to move, he takes its two sides and sits on Yousetsuâs knees, wrapping his legs around the shaking boy.
Theyâre finally warm here.
Thunder keeps on clapping and they sometimes get flashed by light, but itâs more silent now and Rin even feels sleepy now. Who knew that Awase could be so warm ?
He ignores the sensation of dropping rain on the top of his head.
âHey, Rin ?â He asks after a while, softly against his hair. Half-asleep, Hiryuu drowsily rubs his head against him.
âHm ?â
âI-â
The rest of his words are drowned in the flashing light. Rin blinks a few times in quick succession, confused and distraught, wondering if he heard well or if his imagination was doing looping inside his head.
He opened his mouth to ask him to repeat.
Then closed it, because that question would have been quite inappropriate in this moment.
Theyâre fun to write about ! I like it ! -Mod copycat
