Was just kind of perplexed by its existence, morbid curiosity so to speak... Thumb brushes over the hard cold plastic. How does a nice girl like Barbie go from lady astronaut to an assassin anyway? Has ask that same question about the real thing before... Abruptly tosses the doll back to Danny while turning his back to him.

        “ You ever put much thought into bein’ a parent?  Before all’a this? ”  Her voice was soft, words tentative.  This topic had been rather taboo ever since they’d discovered the truth, something to be tiptoed around but never addressed.  But Misty was tired.  She was tired of the weight on her shoulders, tired of walking on eggshells around Danny every time they were together.  He was the one person she should have been able to lean on now, the one person who could understand her feelings.  Unfortunately, a chasm had developed between them in the time since they’d lost the baby (was that even a valid way of describing it, given that said baby had never actually existed?), one that seemed to grow wider with each passing day.  It terrified her, more than she was willing to admit.

“That you got hit, no, not really,” she said, “That you got hit that much, a little,” she joked, a small smile on her lips. She was trying to make it just a little better, because it seemed he had at least a couple days of healing in front of him. She always found it was best to face the time laid up in bed with some good humor.

“Yeah, I can get you some ice, I can even throw in some ibuprofen,” she said, stepping out of the room. She’d had her fair share of injuries. It was often that she was unlucky enough that she was beaten black and blue, but every once and while she was confined to bedrest. Felicia knew how to take care of injuries.
