a little Blast From The Past AU sketch!
Beck will literally just hold whatever he doesn’t want Hiro getting into up in the air and out of his reach because he’s so tall lmao. It’s already happened once (with a crowbar of all things) in the fic and I think it’s hilarious. Nobody tell Hiro that Beck is NOT in fact the pinnacle of lab safety and is in fact the creator of one of the most dangerous pieces of tech in BH6 history.
what they’re saying in case my handwriting is illegible:
Beck: No more blowtorch for you until you can be responsible with it.
Hiro: I AM responsible! The smoke detector didn’t even go off this time!

some fun facts about Beck Aken from my blast from the past AU!
-He’s technically 16 in the fic but with how everything works, he gets thrown forward 20 years but to an earlier month. His birthday’s in December, but he got sent forward to August. So he kinda just says “fuck it, guess I’m 15 again.”
-He hated all school subjects except math and science. His teachers in those subjects that he didn’t like hated him because he got perfect grades even though he gave zero effort and was basically on his phone the entire time.
-He was well known for skipping half of gym class to go listen to music and not have to “run around like an idiot” as he put it.
-He absolutely hated Professor Callaghan’s guts. He respected the man as an accomplished inventor and scientist, but found him to be an insufferable, overly-responsible, and way too obsessed with ethics. Professor Callaghan, in turn, thought he was reckless, foolish, and impulsive. They did NOT get along.
-The only authority figures he respects are Professor Granville and Aunt Cass, and that is absolutely it.
-He doesn’t respect cops, he’s scared of doctors and hospitals, and he has a deep admiration of firefighters because he is terrified of fire and appreciates them for being brave enough to go near it.
-He is very comfortable with theft if it means he gets something he wants. Such as clothes, or a new laptop, or college tuition.
-He also hates Alistair Krei because he met the guy once and thought he was way too arrogant and cut corners in ways Beck didn’t like.
-His favorite song is Icarus by Starset, and no, the irony isn’t lost on him that he basically IS an Icarus himself given the whole energy amplifier thing. He kinda makes it into a personality trait and adopts the motif as his own. He also dresses up as Icarus for Halloween.
-He was forced to learn how to play violin because he had to pick a music subject in high school, but he only ever plays Starset covers out of spite.
