I adore the new URL! it's very correct.
thank you!! i love it too :-)
(SPiDERVeRSE SPOILeRS just in case) I absolutely ADORE spiderverse May and hope they make MCU may more like her bc aunt may in that movie? Clearly some sort of engineering specialist (made Miles's new webshooters, probably), knows doc ock personally (former gf? Who knows?) anyways Aunt May in that movie is the mcfreakin best.
sony is a coward until they give me the movie of aunt may dating doc ock and their universe peter parker trying to break them up in a series of misadventures a la mulan 2 because he knows that doc ock is a supervillain

Part of the maturity thing is also the basics of her character, too: of her brother dies in anything other than an inheritance battle the monarchy almost immediately falls to her. Wakanda is a functional monarchy, with a set-up system to keep lazy monarchs out of power, so Shuri needs to be on her toes the whole time. She needs to be prepared for assassination attempts, her whole family dying, etc. That kind of responsibility from an early age matures people (although everyoneâs correct about the âwoobifying the white boyâ part as well, see: the odinson children)
I donât have an issue with Peter being a fun loving teenager. I think that weâre using mature differently here.
Iâm talking about how we treat adults that threaten Peter as Peter being this 15 year old kid getting assaulted by these adults that should know better, when in the context that is presented they donât actually know that heâs kid. [ The final fight with Vulture being an exception obviously. ] And how the conversation becomes âoh, Peter is a child and Steve & the rest of #TeamCap should have known betterâ during Civil War, and theyâre all cancelled for attacking a child.
vs.
Shuri who is also presented as a minor during the movie that introduces her, Black Panther, btu we donât go to NâJadaka and say âI can understand where his motives lie, but heâs a terrible person for trying to kill Shuri.â The movie makes it very clear that he almost kills her during the final fight in Wakanada, the Border tribe encircle her [ along with Nakia and Okoye and Florence Kasumba ]. And while yes you could argue that similar things have happened to royal families of Europe for centuries, that doesnât change the fact that Shuri is still a kid that had to go through that and the discourse around her character is usually about her inventing tech to benefit Tony Stark & Co or to relegate her simply to supporting friends at whatever Peterâs school is.Â
Assuming of course that they remember that she exists outside of the badass princess trope.Â
Her being the assumed heir to the throne, which is an assumption. Wakanda does have a functional monarchy, but itâs not like it does fall to her. TâChaka died at the UN and TâChalla didnât become the real King of Wakanda until after he defeated MâBaku is ritual combat, the same for NâJadaka, and TâChalla wasnât welcome on the throne again until their third act battle. So her becoming Queen is entirely reliant on the fact that no one else in Wakanda would dare to challenge her. I donât think anyone would, but itâs certainly possible.Â
So itâs not that I want to see her more free spirited, but even with her character rooted in the Royal Family dynamics and all that it brings, the fact doesnât change that the way we view adults that attack Shuri is fundamentally different than the way we view adults that attack Peter. And in every instance of an adult attacking Shuri they are well aware of her age, and the same canât be said of those that attack Peter.
it's called an egg in a hole or an egg in a basket!

information: there is a middle ground between the axolotl and the olm. It is the Texas Blind Salamander and it is, unfortunately, an at-risk species :/
Ohh!! Pictures for that were showing up when I was looking for Olms, they do look very similar! Thatâs very interesting, thanks for telling me about them, did not know they were a thing either. Being an at-risk species is very unfortunate, reading some stuff about it and it sounds like a really interesting creature!

Character Development Questions: Hard Mode
Oooooohhh, thaank youuuuuu
33. In The Face Of Criticism, Is Your Character Defensive, Self-Deprecating Or Willing To Improve?
- 9 times out of 10, defensive - Slightly different reactions depending on whatâs being criticised. For instance, when Matt was talking about how he would organise the security team, Alex was ready to bite his head off. She has the same reaction when Philip talks down to Lester - If someone criticises the way Alex does what she does, she just pulls rank with, âIâve been doing this the longest, Iâm not six feet under yet.â or, in Beckerâs case, âIâm your commanding officer.â Occasionally people will get, âIâm sorry, who founded this operation? Whoâs team leader? Whoâs the tracker here?â - And then thereâs the people who criticise how Alex handled, say....the rescue missions into the future, or Helen infiltrating the ARC. It doesnât happen much, those are generally taboo topics. Also they know theyâll either be pinned against a wall or Alex will just start crying - Alexâs Way Works. Until It Doesnât
