i feel as if i might be thinking too hard about this but... i think one of the many reasons i enjoy listening to seventeen songs is the fact that all of them have very distinct voices. i know that in kpop, most vocalists are tenors and baritones end up being the rappers more often than not... at least for male groups. but i digress.
seventeen is made up of... i believe 10 ( hannie, shua, jun, soonie, hoonie, seok, hao, kwan, sol, chan ) tenors and 3 ( cheol, woo, gyu ) baritones. [ feel free to correct me. ]
but all of them have very distinct voices that really do harmonize well, regardless of being a tenor majority ( which should harmonized well ). they all have very different intonations and vocal quality that makes a lot of whatever song they sing have a certain flare to it. while i wouldn’t say it is rare by any means, the sheer size of the group makes it more noticeable, i suppose.
honestly i find it fascinating. i have been listening to a lot of vocal unit songs lately and i notice the difference in intonations. you can really tell who is singing. i feel like this is even more noticeable when they do river stages.
i feel as if i can tell voices apart, which i find a little difficult for some groups? idk, i lost my train of thought after this.
