So I finished the Path of the Renegade!
*Obviously, spoilers in the text below!*
First thought: Wow!
I did not expect liking this one this much when I started reading! For context, this is my first ever Warhammer 40k book and I am currently in act 3 in Rogue Trader, so perfect timing to finish this book!
Drukhari are wild😂 obvious statement. I think that is also what made me enjoy this book a lot, their culture is so different than ours, it's difficult to expect how characters are going to act. I found it refreshing to read. There were multiple moments in the book that had me: "HUH!? I did NOT see that coming!"
What I also rather enjoyed is that within a vacuum, all these characters are pretty antagonistic, I mean, they tortute, betray, manipulate, but within the context of the story I couldn't help but root for certain characters.
Is it weird I really ended up liking Yllithian?😂 I also heavily enjoyed when the group of 'servants' went out on their missions on Yllithians Behest.
It is for this exact reason, the final chapters had me STRESSED. I am glad that all my favorites survived (i think?..... i hope😂)
And the final sentence!? How dare they? I must immediately buy the ebook now to continue, so I shall!
All in all, I really enjoyed it! Would recommend it, and I am super excited to read the other 2.
(Also, side question: Is there a canon look for Yllithian? I found one piece of art on the wiki, but when traced back to the original poster, I could not find Yllithians' name in the original post anywhere. Do I have complete free reigns on how I want to paint him???? Asking for a friend👀)
