I dug around after you sent me this inbox. So, it seems it's not quite 100% confirmed that the leaks are the FFIX animated pitch, it just seems the most likely, so I'm still going to maintain the possibility it may not be real.

That said, if this is, indeed, what was proposed for the (hopefully still) upcoming show, then I get why they intended it for kids. When I first heard the animated series was gonna be all-age, I was mildly puzzled; FFIX's world IS very colorful and whimsical that it would lend well to a kid's cartoon, but its subject matter and content is still broadly meant for an older, teen audience. ...But my assumption was that they were gonna adapt the original game, not make a sequel!

FFIX doesn't need a sequel, it ended wonderfully. But also, also, ALSO, it has the best premise for a sequel because it stars the children of the Best Character Ever (and serious contender for Best FF Character Ever, don't @ me):

So, some things I've noticed from the Resh'an co-op animations:

He is 100% okay pouring chemicals on an open flame. Never mind that he probably does have it under control, he is absolutely fine violating safety protocol in the name of science. Which should come as to absolutely no surprise: there was no way he ended up immortal if he did not perform some truly dangerous experiments in his lifetime.

I want to believe that while Resh'an and Serai have never seen eye-to-eye, them exchanging secret high fives mean the two of them can get along enough that I'd like to believe they totally hang out for little bits at a time........... just to make snarky remarks of their immediate surrounding. While Serai would be acerbic and straightforward, Resh'an would be a mastery of the "speak politely, even though he is actually throwing the wickedest shade at your general direction" kinda smack talk.

Okay, to be fair, the real reason I made this post is that I only now noticed that Resh'an isn't just spreading his arms to mimic an eagle, he lifts his own robes so they look like wings! Oh my GOD! That is so cute!

In conclusion, Resh'an kind of validated my headcanon that for all his reserved politeness and secrecy, he is also a BIG, FUCKING NERD and I am obsessively in love with all of these animations.

After the defeat of the Dweller of Strife, when Garl is killed by Aephorul's "regular attack" at the Clockwork Castle, Garl's max HP is stored in the save file (in a variable called "garlMaxHPOnDeath"). So if Garl's max HP was something very small, like 109 HP, 109 is the number that is stored. If his max HP was something larger, like 253, then that's the number stored, and so on.

The reason why this number is relevant is because this influences the damage value of Aephorul's regular attack in his actual boss battle. If Garl died with 109 HP back at the Clockwork Castle, Aephorul's regular attack does exactly 109 damage, regardless of equipment, regardless of equipped relics, and no matter which party member it hits (though this number is reduced if you perform a timed block).

Just thought it was a neat detail!

Sooo, I've been an Animorphs fan since I was a child. I used to collect them back in the mid-90s all the way up to the early 2000s through a subscription via Scholastic. I stopped around Book 38ish because mom and dad did not want to keep paying 15 dollars a month (which, I uh, secretly, checked the subscription box for when I was 9 and my parents just kind of dealt with it for a bit), so I never knew until I was in my 20s that the series not only ended, but it had an actual conclusion!

Hence my slow, but gradual journey to collect the rest of the series. I recently got #51 in the mail today, the one I thought was the last one needed to complete my collection (turns out, I am missing Alternamorphs #2.) Still, my collection is 99% complete.
