my tumblr “hot take” is i don’t think “your fave is problematic” was a bad thing. in fact, i think it was a gateway towards anti-celebrity worship for a lot of people. also, it’s not like most of the items on the lists were just surface level mistakes. a lot of items were egregious actions and words that many celebrities STILL have not apologized for today. to say, yfip “ruined a generation” or was “bullshit” (sources were linked mind you) is too much, in my opinion. it was the start of holding these celebrities accountable in the internet sphere.
