24 October 1953. First flight of the Convair YF-102 Delta Dagger (model 8-80) 52-7994 at Edwards Air Force Base. Flown by test pilot Dick Johnson. American interceptor jet aircraft. After just six flights, the aeroplane was lost due to a takeoff engine fire.
