No because that child has been put in a narrative but not necessarily by his means (not that I say he doesn't enjoy it) (Senna grave performance post I don't forget you -) and all he has done is trust that narrative that's kinda been pushed onto him and...well drive. And apparently drive well.

I'm not mad he's driving.

I'm mad things seem so easy for him and he doesn't face any struggle atm.

I'm mad the path is clear for him. Because any and all of the others carry a narrative of struggle and somehow we all do and that's relatable.

I'm mad about the way everything falls easy for him.

But I'm mostly mad that he's painted as a genius, a star, a one of a kind, a legend. I'm mad of the lengths mercedes seem to be ready to go to clear that path even further.

I'm mad that they try to write the narrative instead of letting it be written. (Not that it wasn't always the case. Just. This time around it itches me more)

The whole concept is roughly this: romcom shenanigans with Zuko wanting to get back (at or together with) his ex Sokka. He enlists the help of Jet (because Sokka hates Jet and he agrees for reasons I still haven’t thought about).

The plan is simple: Jet acts like the perfect boyfriend to make Sokka jealous and get his attention then Jet transforms into a shitty boyfriend so Sokka can come to the rescue and gets back together with Zuko.

In the midst of this plan, Jet and Zuko are becoming really good friends. Their personalities just complement each other and they actually like spending time together. Jet starts catching feelings.

The plan does work and Sokka wants Zuko. But Zuko has developed feelings for Jet too. Jet starts falling for Zuko but given the circumstance he knows it's kind of a lost cause.

At this point, Jet and Zuko are actually good friends now and do things independent from their fake dating plan. They have plans to go somewhere that holds a lot of sentimental value for Zuko but when it’s time to leave Jet doesn’t show up. He doesn’t pick up the phone or reply to texts. Zuko gets stood up. Sokka learns about this and comes with Zuko to the thing with a “I told you jet is a jerk wanna get back together?"

The next day Zuko goes to Jet's house to confront him about it only to find Jet laid up in his bed, broken arm and a little drugged up on pain meds. Jet says, "Sorry I didn't call you back. My phone got crushed. And also I got hit by a car. Great news about you and Sokka though congrats.”

The wheat boy is not okay both emotionally and physically.
