Vash (Tristamp) X Reader Warning! ⚠ ⚠ gn reader, Italics= thoughts, implied depression, mentions of death, implied nightmares, sleep deprived reader, still have a will to live ✨yay✨ ⚠
Things were different after that.
Check ups, blood tests, and on some days confinement in the Plant container.
You understood why, of course you understood, but it still felt wrong. But then you remembered what could have happened, what you could have ended up as, what little of you that would exist.
This is the best...for now.
Luida was kind enough to give you a room on the ship once she was sure that you could stay out of the Plant container long enough. Brad would check up on you like a worried parent, but would come up with some lie of why he would walk by your room.
Now in your room, you placed a hand on the side of your stomach, feeling the stitches through your shirt.
It was still there.
The nerve would tingle every so often. Moving your hand up to your chest, you felt it beat along with your heart.
You didn't sleep much. Only a few hours at best, but then you'd wake up in a panic. Every time it happened, you would stop by the Plant room before going to the Geodome. The Plants would calm you down.
You're not sure how long you lie awake in bed, but Luida stops by with a food tray.
"How are you feeling today? Any pain?" The older woman asks as she walks into the room. "You don't have to eat a lot. Just whatever you can is fine." She says placing the tray on the table.
All you do is nod and sit up.
Luida leaves soon after, telling you to rest well.
Since getting out of the Plant container, you've noticed that you don't eat as much as you did before.
Maybe I'm just closer to death. You thought. Wouldn't that be nice? To finally die...
Getting up, you move to pick up some food before your mind could process it. Chewing snaps you out of your daze and you take a look at what you're eating.
Not today either.
Since you had some left over will to live, you decided to go to the Geodome. Hoping a walk would help clear your mind, or just to zone out with no interruptions.
Once entering the dome, you walked over to the flowers and sat in front of them. The Baby blue eyes sway slightly, the breeze in the dome is light but comforting. Closing your eyes, you focus on just feeling, and the extra thumps in your chest calm.
.
One day you woke up floating.
"WHAT THE HELL!?" You shouted in surprise and then scream when falling to the floor, groaning in pain after. "Uuuuugh..."
More tests were done after that, some brain scans, x-rays, and some physical too. Luida was more concerned about your health, meanwhile Brad was just plain freaking out that you would float out of nowhere.
"You need heavier shoes." The man sighs.
You were still in the medical wing, finishing simple tests, a check up. While looking over the medical tests, Luida compares them with something else.
The older woman turns to face you. "I need you to tell me what happened. When we found you in the desert, the wound on your stomach was too clean to be an accident." She wears a worried look. "What- Who did that to you?"
You are quiet for a few minutes.
She glances at Brad and he gets the message to leave the room.
Eventually you tell her what happened. That you woke up to something in your stomach after being kidnapped, then what the crazy doctor explained to you, and finally you tell her what happened when the ship started blaring alarms before they put you in the Plant container.
"The nerve expanded. Now it goes all the way up to my chest." You say. "It feels weird. And I don't think it can be removed."
"Why do you think it can't be removed?" The woman asks.
"Because when the doctor tried, it clung onto me. I think he barely got a sample." You respond. "And when you tried to cut it, it did something, didn't it?" Looking up, you can see that you were correct just by the expression on her face. "It won't be moved. At least not now."
Luida moves and sits down on a nearby chair, sighing.
"Well, it was worth a try." She says.
It is silent for a bit but then you remember the files she had pulled up ealier.
"The results.." You begin. "What were you comparing them to?"
"I compared them to our gravity Plant." She answers. "If it's alright with you, can we examine you in the container?"
Thinking it over, you know almost nothing about Plants. They are all connected in some way, they generate energy, and are able to create life like independets that are also connected.
Something bothered you though.
In the manga, it is said that Plants were created by humans. However, if they were 'created' why don't the humans understand how they work? The humans had Plants before the fall, powering the ships and providing for them in all the years of Project SEEDS. During that time, the scientists should have had more than enough information on the Plants.
So, why are the humans still clueless?
"Ok." You agree. "But in return, teach me all you know about Plants. Give me their history and any files containing anything about them." You say and then clasp your hands together. "And I mean all of the files. Even the ones that aren't pretty to see."
"All of them? But there are hundreds, if not thousands-" Luida starts.
"I've spent hours reading before, and I can do it again. I just have one question." You say and stand from the examination table. "Do you have the files of the first born independant?"
.
Staring at the screen tab in your hand, the red bar with the text 'Top Secret' was displayed when you searched for the file.
"That's a dead end.." You sigh and close the tab, placing the tech on the table in your room. "I guess only ship five had those files of Tesla."
After many, many, many tests, it was confirmed that a gravity Plant nerve was attached to you. Luida tried to see how it was able to coexist inside of you, but going through every DNA sample that she was able to take, nothing out of the ordinary showed.
"It's so strange. How is an implanted nerve surviving like that? It doesn't make any sense." The woman sighed. "I'm not sure if we'll be able to figure this out any time soon."
"It's fine." You waved it off. "I just need to figure out how to stop randomly floating. Or at least how to control it."
Both of you eventually ended up taking a walk in the Geodome, going over alternative energy, resources, and Plants. Since you didn't know much on gravity, you had to do some reading. Going as far as checking how time and space is influenced by it.
Then Vash came up in conversation.
"I hope he's doing ok out there. Wherever he is." Luida stopped and looked up at the glass above, at the sky beyond.
He's probably Eriks right now.. You thought and stopped up as well. I wonder how he's doing.
"So." Luida looked at you from the corner of her eye, wearing a knowing smile. "Brad told me that Vash has a thing for you."
It takes a few seconds for you to process what she just said.
"Huh!?" You look at the older woman in shock, face heating up. "W-what!? No! There's no way! I kicked him in the face when we first met!" You confessed and looked towards the flowers. "I can't imagine that Star boy having a crush on someone like me. Maybe Meryl? Yeah."
"Well, if anything happens. I give you my blessing." Luida says before walking again.
You stay put before snapping out of it.
"Hey, wait! I'm serious! Vash doesn't see me like that!" You rush to catch up to the woman.
At the end of the day, you find yourself in the Plant room again.
Placing your hand on the glass of the container, you stare at the floating gravity Plant before you.
"I hope you can teach me what I need to know..Honoka."
Hey, it's been a while. I'm waiting for all the episodes for Stargaze to come out, so I can binge it. And doing research meanwhile I wait. Let's keep going!
