she knows that she should stop following leads, stop going after things that could harm her.  however, staying safe never helped her receive accolades.  sadie had slipped out of her hotel while the rest of the crew sleeps, making her way to the duke’s carriage.  she isn’t sure why she’s so drawn to him, why she can’t stop thinking about him.  it’s-- harder to find him than she first thought, but eventually he materializes in front of her.

and so she talks to him, warm by the fire, pouring out her stories to a stranger that could (probably) honestly care less.  still, it makes her feel less alone and for that, sadie is grateful.  the duke notices that she keeps rubbing at her shoulder, offering to help her work out the kinks in her back.  certainly it’s not that harmful of a thing.

so she’s sitting on one of his legs, her own dangling in front of her.  the duke’s hands seem to be made of magic and she can feel that tension melt from her form.  his fingers tuck under the fabric of her shirt and she can’t help but let out a moan upon skin to skin contact, hips shifting against his thigh.  it’s then that sadie’s face goes flush, one hand pressing against her mouth.  she’s embarrassed, of course.

None of my playlists are very long except for the 3-hour long Charles playlist recounting his 2019-2020 seasons, narrative arc and all, so I shall shuffle that even if I always listen to it in order.
