Hello! I'm a Sarazanmai fan and I watched the first 2 seasons of SB69 because of your posts. I liked it, but I'm confused about what you said: "SB69 makes it very clear that Shuuzou and Rom are in fact in love". Did I miss something? I hope it's the case, because in the episodes I saw only a canon friendship and I'm disappointed. I didn't expect something as explicit as ReoMabu, but at least some heavy gay subtext? That's what I got when I read your words. Sorry, I feel a little lost about it.
Hello! First of all I’m so happy I’ve gotten someone to watch SB69 and I’m glad you liked it! Second, I’m so sorry I gave you the wrong impression, that wasn’t my intention at all and I know it sucks when you expect something different and the reality doesn’t live up to it. I meant that in a somewhat joking manner and was talking about all the implications they give us, mainly how their previous band breaking up was played out like a relationship break-up and they treat each other like exes who still have feelings for each other, mixed with a lot of hurt and regret and other complicated feelings.
It’s been a while since I’ve watched SB69 so I don’t remember too many specific scenes or how much they even talked about Amatelast (the band Shuu and Rom used to be in together, it’s been mentioned more in the game and there’s a stage play about it), but here’s one example where they timed these romantic lyrics to the duo perfectly and intentionally. They're definitely not singing about friendship "like" here...
So yeah, it’s not anything explicit, but the (sub)text is definitely there.
