LOVECRAFTOBER: DAY TWENTY-EIGHT: Nug and Yeb: The Twin Blasphemies

Affiliation: The Court of Yog-Sothoth and The Court of shub-niggurath

The last big render I wanted to do for Lovecraftober, the twin monstrosities themselves, Nug and Yeb! I felt their designs were conveyed best through renders than simple drawings.

These two are never apart and often act and function as a single entity rather than separate ones. They often finish each other's thoughts or seem to know exactly what the other may say in addition to always seeming to be in agreement about things.

As the offspring of Yog-Sothoth and Shub-Niggurath, they hold a special place as being a bridge between the two courts, often going back and forth depending on their moods. They are known to be extremely unpredictable, ranging from curious and playful to downright violent and sadistic.

After all the big, imposing critters of the last few days - with Nyarlathotep, Yog-Sothoth and Dagon and all the other lot - I dug something smaller out of the Lovecraft Panteon today. I guess that's what happens when you leave Yog-Sothoth and Shub Niggurath alone for too long after a big binge. Yes, Elder Babies. :D Well, from an earthly point of view they are certainly a bit older, but from the point of view of the Outer Gods they still seem very young to me. Also from the way the Lovecraft Wiki speaks almost lovingly of the little Nug and Yeb, who are sometimes quite rough and destructive, but really just want to play :) Doesn't sound so much like evil twin now, but at least it sounds like the #blasphemoustwins :D Once again, I've taken complete artistic licence here. Yeb only has eyes, Nug only has maws. But they complement each other perfectly and are inseparable. And Yeb is undoubtedly the cheekier of the two :)
