first of all i made these for the dywc profiles. you should check those out.

second of all i made these for the dywc profiles BECAUSE despite having ~30 recolored manga panels of the ftpcast i like. straight up could not vibe with how the manga drew the characters anymore because like sora was the only one that really vibed with how i imagine them all in my head now lol, and that’s honestly becuase sora has more like 50+ images so its easy to cherrypick the good ones. BUT kairi especially had absolutely none with the >:3c that she should ahve and i was like fuck it. time to make my own art, so that i can acurrately represent how i imagine the ftpcast,

and i did! i needed five per profile, one big image and four small icons. but that’s not what i’m 100% here to talk about lol. i’m here to talk about Design Decisions i made

economy of pallette but also i just had a fun time putting characters in matching colors. so sora and kairi are wearing matching colored shirts for this one. also i used a reference picture. ALSO i think the best part of kh1 kairi’s design was the bracelets and went fuck ti i’m bringing those back. also also ponytail is important to me. those are my opinions

well those are my opinions plus 1) i care sokai friendship 2) the rar who started ftpverse is losing their shit because we can just draw now. wow. look at this. 3) THIS’LL BE THE ONLY ONE WHERE SORA’S WEARING A JACKET LOL at some point i stopped including that as part of his design (not in this image set, just like, over the years) and i legit don’t know why other than MAYBE that jackets became kano’s signature thing to me

also freckle kairi is important to me

thes two were not meant to be part of the same picture immediately but now they are and now it looks like namine is laughing at a joke kairi is telling which like, thank god. also return of braclets (including string ones which i give kairi a lot) which ALSO namine has! bracelets!!!! they’re pink to match kairi :)

kairi’s are yellow mostly because [points as kh1] but i think it probably is the same yellow as namine’s hair jsut for. pallette economy.

this (like most of joseph’s actually) is referenced from a picrew i made of joseph. this is the only time you see him in not his “default” outfit but that’s becuase i think his kind of humor is EXACTLY that he’d wear a shirt that says pants.

also he has bracelets now because he should!!! and he wears hair clips in his hair!!! because he would!!! this is his fashion now!!! tons of cheap and colorful accessories

namine is the only one who doesn’t have a consistent color scheme in any of her drawings but pale blue is probably what i’d put as her signature color and then the pink cardigan is bc kairi...... probably..... anyway this is my favorite namine from the entire batch. damn it’s so good. actually all my namine’s are extremely good, ngl

there was a while where i was drawing riku in a black tank ((probably twitter user reflera’s influence)) but i shifted over to drawing him in a yellow tank and god i wish i had done that ages back. yellow is basically his signature color!!!!! god!!!!

misc riku things: i actually only drew like three new pictures for him and used two old ones (the homestuck one WHICH IS STILL A REALLY GOOD EXPRESSION) and the sunrise pic which like i COULD have drawn more new rikus but it’s fine. hes’ fine. touches screen my son

i actually referenced a really old joseph art from the dead inside challenge for this one lol because iwanted to redraw it now that i have Better Drawing Skills. once again ft bracelets and hair clips, as he deserves

this is also the color palette you’ll see him in for all the other art, which is based loosely on decisions i kept consistently making when fucking around with picrews (pink shirt) but also just. feels better than leaving him in a white shirt lol. also as funny as the checkov’s gun shirt is, i decided to make good on him constantly rotating shirts EVEN IF THEY’R ALL PINK but good color scheme. i love him.

also the canon is that kairi probably unloaded a bunch of her old hair clips on him. joseph is surviving at least 50% on handmedowns from kairi (his dywc outfit actually includes kairi’s old skirt lmao)

them!!!! interacting!!!!! it wasn’t meant to be them interacting (kairi was meant to just be dicking about on her phone and the kano image was meant to be separate but then i was like wait this is a coherent scene) but now it is. kairi recording kano doing stupid shit

also matching colors :3 ..... kano’s “canon” outfit is usually him in a red shirt with a black jacket tho we’ll see some variation i’ll talk about later. and if you want to think REALLY hard about it, kairi’s shirt here is honestly what she’s wearing under her pink tank. she MIGHT just be chiling in her bra in this picture. that is a thing she would do.

please appreciate namine reading a book. i think this one is extremely cute. also the colros i realize are REALLY messy but you can’t tell when it’s small so whomst care. also even if i couldn’t settle on a consistent color scheem for namine i was like “pastels. put her in pastels”

this is kano’s other default outfit which, wasn’t initially meant to match both sora and kairi (it was initially i wanted him in a blue shirt to match sora and a red red jacket looked really bad so i went with pink) but i am extremely glad this means he’s matching both sora and kairi

also it wasn’t meant to be a coherent scene i just wanted kairi being >:3c and kano being >:/ but!!! because i drew sora so close ti looks like kanos’ being gay and kairi’s teasing him, which i love

wow this art is old and i evolved how i draw so much since this. ANYWAY. the soshad booklet i made for the fanmix it’s about choice. i just kept hte outfits becuase they’re good.

once again i don’t know why i ditched the jacket for sora. probably to give him a uniquer “outline” / “design” BUT. also i just think sora chilling around in a tank top is good post op. thanks

here’s this whole page which exists mostly because i was like aw SHIT, i don’t have nearly enough soras and kanos after that. so this was a pickup page. all the soras and kanos i still needed ft one riku bc i was short, one namine bc i was sshort, and two josephs bc i was short (each page needed five images, remember)

sora was drawn referenced from a manga panel (most soras were actually) and joseph referenced from a picrew. not the best joseph but i just needed five of him. they didn’t have to be GOOD

joseph dabbing because he’s twelve thirteen and would absolutely dab and it was very important that i had a picture of him dabbing honestly becuase it perfectly captures his vibes. nods

used a reference picture for this and tho the body language is good well i won’t tear this apart. teh body language is still extremely good, end sentence. also boyfriends match outfits and hold hands 🥺🥺🥺🥺

i think these collectively were referencing extremely good matching picrews i made of them but also it looks like kano embarrassed about his extremely eager bf. that’s fine. he looks fond tho!! look at him
