How did you get the wig hair to adhere so tightly and cleanly to the base for Yellow Diamond? (which is breathtaking btw, i love the hair grain detail that was added)

That’s a question for danekez, but from what I saw, he laid down some tacky glue, placed the loose hair, waited for the glue to dry while holding it down in place with his fingers, and then tacky sprayed it!

How did you make yellow diamonds hair?? It's so perfect!!
Danekez made it first of all!
I patterned the shape and built it out of craft foam, connecting the edges with barge contact cement, and then handed it over to Dann.Â
He smoothed out the seams with the edge of a hot glue gun, covered the entire thing in yellow felt and then proceeded to meticulously glue on loose wig hair (which I dyed) with tacky glue for two nights in a row while marathoning BBC shows.
Hello! Im sorry if this has been asked before but how do you go about applying body paint and sealant? And which sealant do you use? Every time I try body paint(ben nye) it usually comes off pretty easily even with sealant :( what would be your suggestions? Sorry if this is bothersome and Thank you!!!
I used Ben Nye Creme Liner and apply it with a round makeup sponge, applying the makeup in streaks first and then papping the uneven areas to blend. I then seal with baby powder and a fluff brush and then I spray myself with light-hold hairspray because I’m terrible.
My makeup stays on for hours and hours because of this sealing technique though, in fact, for YD I couldn’t even get it all off after a 40min shower!!
I have two questions I think. How long have you been cosplaying and how long did yellow diamond take? What was the hardest thing you ever learned in terms of cosplaying (sewing, armor, makeup techniques, etc.) Sorry if this was overbearing! - Jayde

Oh man that is a hard question, I think the biggest cosplay learning curve I ever experienced was with Magic Armor Link, and that was made in a matter of 2 weeks thanks to a lot of my friends! (all mentioned in the link)

For Yellow Diamond, since the wig is probably the hardest part, I’d say either make a base out of craft foam and tacky glue wefts to it (danekez’s technique for my wig) or get a really thick lace front wig (arda has quality ones) and style the triangles from there!
For Blue Diamond, since the gem is probably the most difficult, do what I did with my Yellow Diamond gem as shown here and here. Danekez started by making a positive out of poplar wood and hella sanded it, then I made a negative by placing the gem into a box and filling it with OOMOO 30 2-part silicon to make the mold. After that I used Cast n’ Craft 2-part resin to cast the gem in the mold. To get the color, mix some sharpie ink of your desired color into the resin.
