I came across the yautja raised by humans trope and I can’t stop thinking about it? Like yautja reader being raised on a ranch and now (~60 years later) takes care of the animals around their land before coming across another adult yautja on the hunt. Just bump into each other in the middle of the night and stare at each other in silence. You, wearing chaps and a wild rag, while he’s fully decked out in armor and weapons. VERY different first thoughts on each other.
You, stressing out because he killed the mountain lions in the area which means the ecosystem is now FUCKED™:
The hunter, livestreaming this to the ship for the homies bc he’s never seen a cowboy yautja before:

I saw your mark x alien reader post and was wondering if u could do another one but with a yautja reader? If u don’t do it I understand,
really wonder how mark would interact or if he would even romance an probably exiled yautja who has killed and has trophies (as in skulls.). I dont think yautjas can even beat a ‘viltramite but yeah.
I dont think he would even have feelings for them tbh, but if he were it’ll probably be a diff ver of mark anyways.
sorry for the ramble :P
Mark Grayson x Yautja male reader
Headcanons
Time has passed, but my passion for Mark Grayson and Yautja burn brightly.
There is very little actual romance in this, and some Mark variants do die, lmao. Cuz yeah, I dont think Mark could fall in love with a Yatuja where the show is at rn.
Now, an exiled Yautja would probably be a bad blood, and I don't think theyd have time for romance if reader was a bad blood, ya know? So perhaps he's more of a loner.
Perhaps reader is an older more experienced hunter, and comes from a clan where yautja hunt as they want and on their own.
If Yautja and Viltrumites existed in the same universe, they will have clashed before. Viltrumites seem like the highest honor for a Yautja, as they are so powerful and hard to kill.
Maybe this is why some Yautja hunt humans, as they look like viltrumites and their skulls would be similar to display?
But, this also means that whilst Yautja are physically weaker, they would have developed methods and tech to make themselves a threat. But, I don't think a single yautja could take out a viltrumite on their own.
Maybe reader has even hunted a viltrumite or two in his long life, alongside some other clan members. Or, reader is the only yautja to have hunted and successfully killed a viltrumite on his own, just to add to his status.
And being an older yautja, would mean that Reader might have been around before the viltrumites were so few and far between.
Enough about background stuff.
You might have picked up some kinda rumor about viltrumites on earth, or it wouldn't even be one since other clans of yautja come to earth for beings worthy of being hunted.
I imagine you hover around earth for a while, not being discovered by anybody, just observing and stalking. You are older, you have much more patience than any of the youngbloods do.
Enough time to see that Mark doesn't deserve to be culled. The youngbloods might have tried to hunt him anyways for honor, but you are smart enough to know it wouldn't be a worthy fight.
And maybe, as you are about to leave, the variants appear. They are nothing like Mark, and fit the criteria for being hunted and turned into a trophy alongside the other viltrumite skulls you have in there.
Because I love Rex, the first variant you go after is Bug-eyed Mark. Both because he's isolated, and easy prey as he's so focused on tormenting Rex that he doesn't even sense you coming.
Luckily for you, you have kept your viltrumite hunting gear in top shape, just in case.
You end up stopping Rex right before he's about to do his big sacrifice, instead lopping the head right off the variant, as that's the quickest way to kill a viltrumite.
Imagine Rexs shock as he's dropped to the ground, only to see a big Yautja become visible, and do that clicking at him. Perhaps you are nice enough to give him something for his wounds, but you disappear as quickly as you came.
The next you take out might be Lenseless Mark, as hes also somewhere more isolated. Who cares if you are spotted by the earthlings, they got other things to focus on.
Plus, I have a feeling the GDA know about yautja, at least to some extent. But yeah, you get to mow down some variants. Its easier with some as Mark is still inexperienced and young. Not all of them, and not the strongest or smartest, but you do help out without meaning to.
When its revealed theres an older Yautja on earth helping out by hunting, the GDA can't really give you any attention other than vaguely keeping track.
I feel the only Mark variants to know what a yautja is, would be viltrumite Mark, moustache Mark, and prisoner Mark. The first two because they have fought them before, and the last because there were Yautja locked away the same place as him.
Maybe some of the variants are fascinated, or even attracted to you because you are such a skilled hunter. Like, Sinister probably feels all types of ways when you appear, with like, 5 severed heads hanging from your hip.
But in the end, the variants are gone like in the show, and you get ready to leave earth. Theres no need to stick around now and all that. Plus, you got new trophies to clean.
Here the GDA might try to keep you, to take you into custody, but you aren't a skilled warrior for nothing. And Mark, who can see his own head hanging from your belts, and exhausted from it all, can't hold you either.
Theres no romance, but you do pat your fist against his chest and click out an acknowledgment in your own language.
He doesn't understand you, obviously, but you approve of his mission.
In the end you fuck outta there before Conquest appears, so you arent involved there. And maybe you guys meet again in the future. It's only after Thragg is gone and all that, that I feel romance might be a chance.
When that time comes, I like the mental image of reader having become an elder so he can stay with Mark (and probably Eve too tbh), and they can be a happy polycule.
Reader would struggle a lot with Terra and any other kids they have, as sucklings (baby yautja) are different, but he tries. And, having such a skilled Yautja elder as your mate only adds to Marks status and image.
And who knows, maybe yautja and the new viltrumite empire will be allies from then on. Your clan at least accepts your mates, mainly because you would already have had multiple offspring at that point anyways.
You've earned your place to hunt. You bring back game, and the spoils of bone and hide are yours to fashion.
You've become Kwei's Keeper. And as his Keeper it is your duty to serve and guide. He is a young hunter destined for greatness. That which leads you both to retrieve a device.
His first trial. And yours.
I've been writing on this here and there the last day or so and now I'm invested!
Chapter 2 is ready if anyone is interested!
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
Yautja!Reader and Human!Child (Both GN) (Not a ship/pair!)
Word count: 1,781
TW: blood, betrayal, thoughts of suicide
I decided to change it up a little! Make it from a Yautja's pov this time! Since last time was kind of a fail with that. It does also have some dark moments, so please read with caution.
Will I write more if this in the future? Maybe? If you guys want more of these two.
Honestly, I just love the though of these giant, danger hunters with their innocent little kids. 😂 Like the Yautja expect fear and panic, and the kids are like, you got games on your phone?
Anyways, I'll stop rambling. As always, enjoy!
You growled out curses into the night air as you stumbled through the unfamiliar forest, stopping occasionally to lean against the tree for a breather. Glancing down at your leg, the blood running down a large wound reminding you of exactly why you were cursing the ones you once called your hunting partners. The images of the two other Yautjas turning on you without warning causing you to push of the tree and continue to stumble forward. You needed to find someone to hunker down and treat your injuries, not sure if the others of your species would come back to finish the job or not.
You weren't even sure of what had lead to the betrayal or how deep into your people it ran. Was it two hunters acting of their own accord, or was it the Elders casting you out for some unspoken reason? You had no idea, and you were beginning to doubt that you would ever find out.
Your tumbling storm of thoughts were interrupted by the sight of dim lights peaking though the trees in the distance. As you got closer, you tried to scan the lit building for any threats or information of those inside, but the image inside your helmet just responded with static, having been damaged heavily in the attack.
Your attention then turned to another building a way past the lit building. It was completely dark and seemed empty from your view point. Knowing that you weren't gonna make it much farther with your injuries, you decided on hiding out there for the night. The research done on humans seems to conclude that few left their homes in the darkness of night, so as long as you left before the sky began to light, you should be able to slip away unseen.
As you approached, you began to hear some sounds of animals reacting to your presence. They seemed obviously alarmed, but you had the feeling they could tell you were injured and not as much of a threat at the moment. The sounds mostly seemed as if they were letting each other know about you and warning you that they knew you were there. You ignored them as you continued on, finally pushing the large door open just enough to slip inside.
You picked the corner most hidden from the entrance and let your body drop to the ground. The yellow, stringy mess that covered the area wasn't the most comfortable, but it was better than the hard earth below. It also seemed to insulate the heat coming off your body and helped fend off the cold night air. After spending some time sorting through the few supplies you still had on you, you were able to patch yourself up the best you could, at least able to stop the bleeding and close up the worse of the wounds. Whether it was the warmth holding around you in the corner, the peaceful quiet of Earth's night, or simply just the blood loss and pure exhaustion, but you couldn't fight off the sleep anymore.
You weren't sure of when you had actually fallen asleep, but you were woken by the scream if all your hunting instincts going off at once. As you shoved the grogginess away, you watched as the large door you had come through began to open. You quickly realized that you has slept much longer than intended and the bright light from outside stung at your eyes slightly.
Your first instinct of putting up your cloak was foiled quickly by the blue sparks that sparked sporadically around you. You muttered more curses at your ex partners, just another thing that had done to lead to your likely demise. You briefly began to consider setting off the self-distruct on your gauntlet. The other Yautja likely left that unharmed to give you your own way out, not wanting to actually dirty their hands with your blood.
A soft sound pulled your eyes back towards the door, and you watched as a small human pup finished struggling to push open the large door. They didn't seem to notice you and ran to the opposite side of the building. You heard them rummaging through some things before they made another sound, obviously happy that they had found what they had been looking for. You stayed silent and watched as they turned to head back towards to the door.
You slightly hoped that they would leave without seeing you, but of course nothing about this ordeal could be that simple. They let out a shocked sound as they spotted you, suddenly dropping what appeared to be a bucket and taking a few steps back. Honestly, they didn't react with as much fear as you had expected, mostly seeming to just be startled by the fact that they haven't seen you.
You continued to stay still and silent as you and the pup just held eye contact, neither seeming to know how to react. When they finally did move, you watched in confusion as they raised one of their hands began to sway it back and forth. The short sound they produced you assumed was some sort of greeting. You let out a quiet series of clicks, similar to something you would do to pups of your own species. You watched as your action seemed to only delight the human.
As they began to take a few steps forward, you didn't react until they stepped past the bucket that they had dropped, which you assumed meant that they were going to actually come up to you. You began to release a rolling growl at that point, causing the pup to stop in their tracks. The look they were giving you now still didn't seem like any for of fear you had seen in adult humans in the past.
The two of you began to stare at each other again, you beginning to growl again any time they made a move to come closer. You were sure the pup was about to start ignoring your warning and just come over to you, but the sound of another human, obviously an adult, rang through the air from outside. The pup turned towards the door and returned the call.
You watched as they hurried back to grab the forgotten bucket and head towards the door. They stopped just short of it and turned to look at you. They spoke a string of words you didn't understand before they struggled to close the door again behind them.
You let out a tense breath and let your body sink back against the wall behind you. Letting your eyes raise to the ceiling above you as your mind began to race. You weren't sure what your next move would be. You took the chance to give a few test moves of your limbs, you wounded leg giving you the most trouble. You were once again questioning how far you would be able to get. Your mind began to drift back to the gauntlet on your arm. You were in your own internal battle with yourself. Part of you knew it would be the smarter option to set the timer, as you had always been taught to never give anyone the chance to take your gear, especially the humans. But the other part of you wanted to push on. You couldn't let those traitors win, and you wanted to vow that you would get your revenge. You would get to the bottom of what had happened.
You weren't sure how long you had been lost in your own musing, but you soon sensed the approach of a human. A slightly painful, high pitched squeak sounding every few moments. You watched the door open again, and your body tensed up again until you saw the same pup from before enter again. The squeak started again as you watched them pull in a little red, metal contraption.
This time though, they began to walk straight towards you. Your warning growls were completely ignored as they seemed to ramble on with words that you still had no idea the meaning of. You watched in slightly irritated silence as they walked their metal contraption right up to you and dropped to the ground next to you. You began to really question if this pup was human as they continued to spew out unknown words.
You watched as they began to reach over to pull things out of the metal thing. The first thing being a soft, white thing, which you recognized as a prey animal that bounced around the forest, and you inspected it from a distance as it was dropped directly onto your lap. The next thing being a series of hard, square shaped things covered in bright colors and scribbled lines that you assumed as one of the humans written languages.
Any worry about your previous issues or the uncertainty of your future were overrun by the confusion and wonder of this human pup. You were a Yautja, an infamous species of hunters know throughout the galaxy. And here was this small child, probably somewhere between your knee and hip height, who showed not and ounce of fear or aggression towards you.
The final straw came as you pulled your head back, just avoiding the sickly sweet smelling, what you assumed was food, square the pup had shoved into your face. You looked between the strange item and the pup in confusion, not sure that this human food was even edible for you. The human seemed to notice your confusion and brought the food back to them, taking a few bites out of the corner to show you it was something to be eaten. You continued to watch as the pup ate, sending crumbs tumbling everywhere. You winced slightly as they set the food down on your leg closest to them, luckily not being the injured one, but the feeling of the sticky, brown and red mixture (Peanut Butter and Jelly) touching your skin was a new and disgusting feeling, causing you to pick it up with the tips if your claws and drop it back into their metal contraption, using the stringy, yellow stuff from the ground to wipe it off as much as you could. Once you were cleaned the best as you could be, you leaned back against the wall. Your eyes drifting back to the pup, who was still trying to clean the crumbs off their clothes.
You weren't sure what you were going to do from here, but one thing was becoming strangely clear to you, anything that would put this pup in danger was no longer an option.

Yeehawtja Reader is actually an active part of the community. You’ve been around all your life, so the locals know you and keep you a secret from everyone else. You sell wool, chicks, eggs, goats, cows, and sheep. The yautja hunting party gets restless the first time people come up to your house to buy stuff, whipping out their weapons and letting out deep, guttural croaks and clicks at the “threatening” intruder. You mean mug them while handing that nice old man a basket of fresh eggs for his wife to make her homemade cake and send him off with a gentle pat on the back.
The hunter and his homies are gonna have the time of their lives with Yautja!Reader
All of the sudden there’s five yautja sitting on your lawn, watching you shear the sheep and wrangle cows while making weird noises that often make you pause and look at them like ???
(They’re doing the equivalent of squealing & wolf whistling, but you don’t know that lmao)
Yautja!Reader is happy to see one of their own kind on Earth and offers to show the hunter around (in exchange to stop ruining the ecosystem). Oblivious to the hunger and curiosity in his eyes as he stares at you up and down.
You’re showing him around and explaining which species are the good to hunt in which seasons and he’s just staring at how good your ass and bulge look in those chaps while his brain is going “blah blah blah proper name place name backstory stuff.”
