Years had passed since the murder of his own shinki. His best friend had been torn from his life brutally and without warning. It had broken him in more ways than he could ever describe. He would never be whole again. The sadness that welled within him could never be quenched no matter how much he drank. But now.... now he had finally found out who had done it.
A monk carrying a staff had found him lying down in front of a local school, of course none of the human’s could see him so he was hardly worried, but the young man with brown-ish red hair had crouched down in front of him and tapped him on the head. Normally he would have punched him right back, however he didn’t believe in harming the humans he had sworn to protect,
However, as it turned out, this young man wasn’t a human at all, merely a God who seemed like a human. Kotetsu could have sworn the boy was just a normal boy, but he would entertain the idea for a bit.Or he would have liked to say he would only entertain the idea until the boy had called over another, even younger girl he recognized as a shinki. Or should he say, a stray. The monk called her name and lo and behold, a monk’s staff appeared.
Kotetsu muttered under his breath. So this little twerp was a God. If he was, Kotetsu couldn’t help but wondering what he wanted with him. Sitting up, he offered a place for the young God to sit. They talked for several hours, mostly about ignorant things, mostly small talk and conversations pertaining to nothing in particular, until it finally landed on his shinki. Kotetsu being the kind God he is couldn’t keep his grief to himself and decided to confide in the man. After all, he was a God.
Of the mistakes Kotetsu had made that day, this was the first major mistake.
“Oh. You mean that shinki that was murdered? That was yours? I had heard the master went on a rampage but he didn’t even get revenge on the person who had actually killed his beloved shinki”
Kotetsu’s head snapped to the direction of the others, his eyes blazing.
Fire seeped into his veins as molten lava began to pour out of his skin, his temperature rose exponentially as he felt the anger swell within his heart.
He demanded quietly, nearly a whisper. The man, who at this point had only told him his name; “Fujisaki”, smiled.
“I’m surprised you don’t know. Apparently the God of Calamity killed your shinki. He was tasked by some unknown entity bigger than himself, maybe one of the higher G-”
Kotetsu quickly grabbed the mans shirt and dragged him to his feet. He was much taller than the monk and towered over him, his giant hands nearly ripping the shirt off of him.
The boy smiled again before mouthing a single name.
