They're in the slow process of taking down decorations; the tree's already gone up into the attic for storage, everything else slowly following suit. Gifts had been put away the day of, tidied into their respective places. The plethora of plants around the house had only been added to, joined by mostly fake cousins. After the lights, they were the last of everything to be taken down.
"Can you come here and help me with this one?" Vash calls. It's the very last of them and, really, before Wolfwood even makes his way back over, they both know his help isn't actually needed. Little white berries sit in their nestle of delicate leaves, wrapped together with ribbon.
"One for the road?" Vash grins, pleased with himself as both arms come up to sit lazily across Wolfwood's shoulders. " 'Fore it goes away for a whole year."
The pillows on the couch are being switched out, red and green for blue and white, seasonally appropriate, and he's draping the grey throw blanket over the back when he hears Vash call for him. Wolfwood knows it's probably nothing, but he'll indulge his husband anyway.
His eyes flicker up as he approaches, noting the fake mistletoe dangling from the top of the doorway. Wolfwood lets out a snort, gaze landing on his husband's smug expression.
"Like you can't kiss me without it?"
Wolfwood's hands land on Vash's waist anyway, pulling him forward, flush against the front of his body. His own grin is wide, dark eyes sparkling and the skin around them crinkling.
"Alright. C'mere." And he leans his head in, pressing a warm kiss to the other's lips. His eyes flutter shut, and he leans in further, practically pushing Vash's chin back. One hand moves from his husband's waist to rest on the back of his head, cradling it like he was made from glass.
A few more moments and a bit of tongue and he's sure Vash is breathless, he breaks the kiss and bonks their foreheads together, watching his husband's pink face. Then he reaches up, pinches the stem of the mistletoe, and plucks it off the doorframe. It's placed on top of Vash's head. Wolfwood gives his backside a little swat.
"Okay, okay. Go on n'put that in the storage box with the rest."
