#yandere raiden

❆ Buddy's been through hell and back twice over now. Rose has separated from him, he's been horrifically experimented on, he's been left to walk around by himself trying to get a dead dude's body. So yeah not surprising he develops an obsession considering all that.

❆ I'm gonna assume you're gonna be either someone he knew back during MGS2's events or maybe part of the lost Paradise army.

❆ You'll more than likely reunite via Snake and Otacon, both now under one roof again, Raiden clinging to you like he does to Snake in that one scene. Desperate to not be alone. You more than likely provide that company while snake is off on his adventures during times where Raiden cannot accompany.

❆ He's like an abandoned puppy. Staying beside you. Seeking comfort. Seeking connection. Something he hasn't had in so long. Rose's separation still stinging deep down. Maybe you give him that comfort. Perhaps you did that in MGS2 as well. He eats it up. Drawing him back to you for more.

❆ He wants constant reassurance you don't view him any different. As a freak. As a monster. As less human. As less him. All because of the parts he's lost. The metal grafted into his body. He's still your Raiden right? You'll stay right? He'll make sure of it.

❆ Guard dog essentially. Watches you while you sleep, sacrificing his own rest until he absolutely needs to sleep. Paranoia about the patriots taking you spurring around in his head. He won't ever sleep in the same bed as you, but don't be all shocked if he's right beside it on the floor. He finds himself too disgusting now than to subject you to sharing a bed with him.

❆ Very protective, you're going out? He is too. Yes even when he's lost a limb. Or two. Or all of them. Snake having to drag him screaming back to recovery. Really he'd just prefer if you stayed inside with Otacon and Sunny while he goes and helps Snake.

❆ He'll be soaked head to toe in blood, his own and others, all just to come back to you. Fussing over you. Seeking approval all the while. You feel safe right now? He does a good job right? You feel safe with him? You need him like he needs you right?

❆ He initiates touch when he's at his lowest or in a state of panic most often. Grabbing onto and wrapping around your leg. Holding onto your arm. Burying his face into your shoulder. He's like a big dog leaning into you.

❆ He hates the idea of scaring you. Anytime you show uneasiness or fear he's quick to question. Was it him? Or was it the attacker? It was just them right? You were just scared of someone like Vamp right? Not him. It couldn't be him. He isn't going overboard.

❆ The only thing that can get him to calm is Snake and Otacon talking sense into him. Makin comments about his behavior, pointing it out, prying him off of you carefully, forcing periods of separation. Even then that only holds it off for so long. They aren't always there to help either.

“ ‎Big Boss ” ― He loves it if you hide. Now, he sees it as an act of not only disobedience but also betrayal; however, he still loves it. It's a chance to pounce on you. To test you. To get an adrenaline rush and have an excuse to be nearer to you.

You hiding from him...? Big Boss himself. The master of stealth. disguise. and more. It's laughable. But if you give him a good challenge then he won't be as angry.

Hiding in boxes is incredibly obvious to him. Points to you for going to the classics.

Likes pining you down when he finds you. He likes making you flustered. He's obsessed with seeing you reacting to him. Will either tease or threaten you, depending on his mood.

"Mhm, so the Snake caught its prey. Should I swallow you whole or savor the taste? How poisonous do you think my fangs are?"

"Careful, doll. One could mistake this as deserting. Soldiers who desert their posts deserve to be punished. You'd rather not survive that."

“ Ocelot ” ― Let's be honest, you were probably escaping his 'interrogation'. He doesn't like dragging these things out. But he wants to test you. He likes seeing your instincts kick in. Just how good are they?

He'll be speaking to you in Russian. And if you do understand Russian, then he'll switch to a language you don't understand. He drops little hints here and there. They are important pieces of information that could help you escape. If only you understood. You could be one step closer to freedom.

Alas, he isn't that kind.

Watch out for the needle(s) he's carrying. He'll put you down and out as soon as he finds you. You've already fought back enough. Now it's time for a nap. Sleep well. You'll be regretting your decision when you wake up.

“ Kazuhira ” ― Pre-Peace Walker Kaz is sillier about it. He's worried but he laughs it off. It's creepy. He has this strained smile. His hand struggles to run smoothly through his hair. He can't stop his deranged chuckles. He thinks you hiding in a box is just another part of your trickery. It's an invitation. You're hiding cheekily. You want to have fun. He's more than willing to participate.

Post-Peace Walker Kaz is more somber. He's like a grumpy old man. He walks down the corridors briskly and shouts at any soldier that tries to question him. It's safe to say that he isn't the least bit amused. And he sounds like a strict parent.

"Stop this foolishness. You are old enough to use your words. You know being found is inevitable."

He may go soft for a moment when he finds you hiding, especially if it's in a box. He'll huff and shake his head.

"Old habits die hard."

If you don't attack him then he may sit with you in silence. He'll use his arm to pull you closer, urging you to take comfort in his presence.

"Why?"

Oh, that is a dangerous question. Tread lightly, or you may end up in the hands of your sadistic Russian lover.

“ Liquid Snake ” ― He treats it like it's a game. He has this eerie hum he does while searching for darling. He slowly becomes more unhinged the longer darling hides from him. His patience runs thinner, which means your punishment will be worse.

"Are you done playing this game? Come on out, darling. You know I'll find you. It's just a matter of time."

He revels in the power he holds over darling. When he finds them he'll bend down and smile, patting their head as if they were a child.

"Found you," he murmurs, "playtime's over."

“ Raiden (MGS2) ” ― Gets spooked. He thinks someone took you. He tries not to panic. Still, the nasty feeling rises within him. He feels like he needs to vomit. It's like someone took his heart and plunged it into his bowels.

Treats darling almost like a cat. He's softly calling out to you. His movements are slow and purposeful. They are swift. He checks under every box. Twice.

There's a chance you may encounter him after a switch. Jack doesn't know what's going on. All he knows is that you aren't here anymore. He may start crying.

There's a 50/50 that it's a manipulation tactic. He may genuinely be scared.

After he finds you, or you come out, he cuddles you for awhile. He holds onto like a lifeline. Even if you tried to attack him he'd hold you. He's convinced you're just having an episode. This isn't how you really feel. It's just your silly mind making a silly little decision.

Part of him can't fathom why you'd want to escape him. Is he not good enough for you?

“ Raiden (MGRR) ” ― It depends on what mood you have caught him in. He may try to coax you out. He more than likely already knows where you are. He's just giving you a chance before Ripper takes over. Raiden does his best to make sure that does not happen. A part of him understands what you are going through. Another understands that it's selfish to keep you.

But doesn't he deserve to have one person in his life that loves him?

The Ripper may force his way out. And he isn't one to waste time. It doesn't matter where you're hiding. You'll be yanked up and carried back to where ever you were being held.

"Wrong choice... love. You're lucky I like you more than my blades. Try again―and that may change."

Raiden:

Raiden was always a little cold, a little distant and standoffish. She didn’t mean any harm by it, she was simply busy and didn’t have a lot of free time for you, even if she wished she had. Staring at you now, her trembling hands holding you tight as she tries to find the source of the bleeding, trying to stop it, trying to do anything. In this moment, Raiden feels the crushing weight of her actions, feels the suffocating pressure of not having loved you enough.

If you died in this moment, protecting her from some daring individuals in Inazuma despite the fact she could easily have protected herself, Raiden would never forgive herself. She’s grateful that you don’t die, nearly bleeding out and being in a medically induced coma aren’t great, but you aren’t dead. It’s in this moment that Raiden is grateful for her immortality, for she can sit eternally by your bedside, waiting for you to wake up.

It nearly makes Raiden sick to see you laid out on a bed like that, far too many machines making noises, more bandages than skin visible. It’s enough to have her flinching, unsure that this was even you anymore. But her heart knows it’s you, and it aches at the sight of the damage it has caused. Raiden finds herself thankful that she isn’t required to sleep, eat, or do any other basic necessities, it gives her more time to sit at your bedside, talking to you and waiting for you to wake up, if you ever do that is. She knows it isn’t enough to make up for all the time she’s thrown away, but as she sits there, staring at her hands in her lap, too nervous to touch you in case she causes more damage, she can’t help but feel like it’s at least a step in the right direction.

Furina:

Furina wasn’t a neglectful lover by any means, and after losing her divinity, she had even more time to spend with you. Except she didn’t, why she did her best to put on a brave, happy face, she was depressed. She needed time to heal and found herself accidentally shutting you out of that healing process. Furina was grateful for your loyalty though, staying around and making sure she continued to care for herself.

That was exactly what led to the accident though. While cooking food for the two of you in her kitchen, something went wrong with the stove, causing a small explosion in the kitchen and setting fire to everything in sight it could reach. Furina was able to get you both out of there, but she hadn’t been able to stop the explosion, leaving you in a critical state.

Standing just outside your room, watching as the Melusines change your bandages and mutter amongst themselves about your condition, Furina can only blame herself. If she hadn’t been so depressed, if she had done the cooking for once, if she- if she just- her thoughts become muddled with more self-loathing and blame, her gaze unfocused until a Melusine approaches. The small creatures had tried to coax her into the room numerous times, telling her that it was ok to sit beside your bed and that you couldn’t feel any pain right now. Furina politely refused every time. She didn’t feel she deserved to sit or even stand near you. She didn’t think she even deserved to stand outside your room, but she couldn’t stand to be apart from you until she knew you were ok. 

Venti: 

Gliding from the mountaintop was supposed to be a fun little date between the two of you. The gentle breeze coaxing you from the cliffside down to the sprawling fields below, it was supposed to be fun. Venti even went out and bought you both new gliders, ones that matched. It was cute and fun, up until yours broke. He wasn’t sure how, but one of the wings managed to disconnect from the other, leaving you wobbling before the winds turned against you, tipping you over and sending you plummeting.

He could only react so fast, hastily trying to unclip his own glider so that he could go after you. Venti hadn’t even thought about using the power of the wind, he was panicking, wasn’t thinking straight. He couldn’t wrap his brain around the fact that you were actually falling. The sickening crunch was enough to snap him out of his panic, allowing him to finally unsecure his own wings and drop down. He didn’t take any damage though, landing safely thanks to the wind.

Being tracked down by a bounty hunter-cowboy was definitely not on this year's bingo card.

You had no clue you were putting yourself in the middle of something far greater than anything you could imagine. That a little celebratory trip down to the local pub would turn into you hiding for your life.

“Sweetheart…where are you hidin’? I know you’re here. Come out, come out, wherever you are.” A deep husky, southern voice taunted

You remained stiff, curled into a tight ball, silently praying for a way out of this nightmare.

How could you be so damn stupid. How did you not notice something off about the man? Why didn’t the alarm bells go off for you the second he walked in? And why were you just now putting the pieces together ?

From the way he had dressed to the way the atmosphere changed from the second he walked in…you were so oblivious.

Tipsy and blissful you had thought his outfit was the coolest thing since sliced bread. Unknowingly, you thought he was a part of one of the larp groups in the area. gleefully, you struck up a conversation with the fella.

“You know, you are one, if not the coolest motherfucker I’ve ever seen in my entire life. I wish I had a cowboy hat like that.”

Amused, the man had decided to take a seat next to you and indulge in the conversation.

“Well a mighty thank you, princess. You know you are one, if not the prettiest woman I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Names’ Erron, what brings someone like you to a place like this?”

“Haha I’m y/n and thank you! I’m here to celebrate a bonus I finally got from my boss. I’ve been hounding her about it for months and I’m so happy to finally get it,. Times been rough, y’know?”

“Oh don’t I know it, baby doll.”

From there you guys chatted it up, flirted back and forth, and shared a few drinks. Not even realizing the staleness of the rest of the Pub.

Everyone, except for you, seemed to know exactly who Erron was. They recognized that man wasn’t just here to socialize, he was there to collect.

You had found the perfect hiding space, just under the performance stage, behind the small curtains.

Luckily, no one noticed you crawling over to it, seemingly not even the cowboy. Everyone was far too busy with their own business to care about you in the heat of the moment.

It kept you safe enough from all the commotion that went down, just moments earlier, protecting you from all the stray bullets that unfortunately caught a few others.

The cowboy had a hefty bounty to collect if he successfully killed the man he was after…which also happened to be a frequent patron of the pub.

The man that everyone turned their heads to look at when he arrived, the man that turned Erron Black from a fun-loving conversationalist to a bloodthirsty monster.

You could hear the heavy thudding of his thick metal boots, treading the wooden floor as he tried to find you.

“I’m so sorry about all that, doll. Erron had some business to take care of…I hope you understand.” He had tried to make his voice sweet to make you feel safe enough to come out. Like he hadn’t just murdered the entire bar.

The sound of chairs and tables being thrown, and cabinets being searched sent a sharp fear down your throat and into your stomach.

You couldn’t see it but you could hear just how erratic he was becoming searching for you.

“I know you’re a little frightened but don’t worry I’m not gunna hurt ya darlin’…I think we have something special going on. Wouldn’t ya’ agree?”

Erron wasn’t leaving that place without you. You’ve charmed the dangerous cowboy enough to win him over so like hell he would leave you here! He’s not done with you just yet. Besides you’ve seen too much, either way he’d still have to find you to kill you.

“You looked mighty fine tonight…why don’t ya say’, we go back to my place. Not like there’s any other men here to take you home…”

You could hear his boots pick up pace on the hard wood as he walked over to the bar before they stopped. Clinking of a glass could be heard before the pouring of a drink.

“Come on pretty please.” The irritation in his voice began to rise, his patience with you wavering

Erron usually isn’t this patient, and for a moment he’d thought about just setting the place ablaze and just letting you die like that. But Erron knew if he did, he wouldn’t be able to live with himself for a while. Something about you just couldn’t escape his mind. He needed to see that precious little face again.

A deep sigh filled the air before it became completely silent. It lasted quite some time, far longer than just a beat. Nearly ten minutes had passed and curiosity started to get the better of you.

What the hell was he doing? He couldn’t of left. Not that silently at least. You hadn’t heard a single sound, not even the sound of him drinking…was he just sitting there?

You wanted to get a good look, maybe he was distracted enough to sneak past?

Carefully, you leaned forward enough to grab a little bit of the curtain that lined the front of the platform, gently pushing it aside…only enough to see him. He sat haphazardly on the bar stool, with one leg planted on the ground to keep his balance and the other placed on the leg rest. His head face downwards and his hat hung low, shadowing his face and in his hands he still held the glass he earlier had drank from.

As if he could feel the gentle wind of the curtain being moved, Erron suddenly shattered the glass he was holding, causing it to catch you off guard and send you falling forward onto the cold, hardwood floor.

The cowboy released a chilling chuckle, one just as violent and twisted as he was.

You had fell right into his trap, there wasn’t any time to escape or run and hide again before he was removing that curtain and pulling you out from under the stage

“Darlin’, my job is catching people. You really thought that I wouldn’t find you? Truthfully, I knew exactly where you were the whole time. I just wanted to see if you’d come out for me if I’d ask~.”

“P-please…let me go. I-I didn’t do anything to you please—“ you squirmed tremendously as you tried your best to free your limbs from his grasp.

He shook his head and tsk’ed

“I would’ve let you go if you’d been good for me…you made me wait so long for you. Love is patient, I however, am not.”

“I’m so sorry-I was sca—“

“Shh it’s okay. I’ll teach ya how to reaaal be obedient.”

“Are you going to kill me..please—I don’t wanna die. I’m sorry please—.“

He let out another chilling laugh, this time a bit more dry.

“Oh i'm not going to kill you…I like you enough not to.—“ taking out and unwind I the rope from his hip, he continued

Raiden always struggled with family.

After all, he's been known as a weapon.

While he has a family himself, he's still so used to being a weapon....

He's a psychopath at times too.

Although, I think I have some idea of him being platonic.

Raiden is determined to make sure no one else goes through what he did.

Raiden, when he was still known as Jack, was a child soldier who was told to kill at a very young age.

Safe to say he doesn't really like the idea of anyone being like him.

I feel like Raiden struggles to have emotions at times since he's so used to his own bloodlust

Despite this, he has made an effort to be a better person.

He knows too many he's seen as a monster... but he tries to remember he's the lighting in the rain.

I feel like a platonic Raiden would work well with a teen/young adult darling.

You're younger than him... plus, maybe you were also thrown into this whole war thing?

From what I've seen from Metal Gear, it looks like a society who has made most of its profits from warfare.

Considering children often become soldiers in this universe... Raiden may feel protective of you who was going to be a cyborg before he rescued you... or already are one and are struggling to find a purpose in your life.

Essentially what I'm trying to say is a platonic Raiden's darling would be someone he sees himself in.

This could also be a fellow soldier he works with.

He wouldn't want his obsession to be used as a weapon and suffer how he did.

Which leads into some suffocating protective behavior... as most platonic yanderes do.

It doesn't help that Raiden often doesn't see the family he provides for.

He earns money for them... but rarely sees them.

So I imagine, yearning for family, he could possibly see you in that way.

He's been through a lot... and you could use someone to help you, yeah?

I definitely feel like how Raiden feels about cyborgs and not wanting others to be like him affects him as a platonic yandere.

He also fears hurting those he cares about... so I imagine Raiden initially comes off as cold or distant with you.

He cares about you and often shows concern for you in missions or even just escorting you.

There's time he tries not to be attached to his obsession initially... He's aware of how easy it could be to lose you.

But over time he can't keep up the act....

If you think about it, Raiden is a terrifying yandere no matter what intentions he has.

Normally platonic yanderes are written as tame by me compared to romantics.

Yet Raiden? Nah.

His trauma as a soldier quite literally gave him a second persona... the Jack The Ripper, persona.

Raiden knows what he is.

He knows deep down he thrives off bloodshed.

He can try to hide his nature... but in reality he's just going to use it to fight his own war.

Raiden, even when platonic, is going to create bloodbath to protect his obsession.

If you're reading this... You've most likely seen gameplay of what this man is capable of.

He slices through enemies like butter.

Be it other cyborgs... or even Metal Gears...

Anyone who stands in his way just becomes a puddle on the ground.

So him PROTECTING someone?

Yeah... like no one is touching you.

Which, hey, if you've gone through all the cyborg procedures and training... or are a regular human he saved from that... you may not want anyone to touch you anyways.

After all, if you're associated with Raiden, you're often coming across cyborgs all the time.

I feel like Raiden never takes his eyes off his obsession.

He watches you like a hawk, as though paranoid you'll disappear if he doesn't.

Even when he drops you off somewhere safe or drags you to somewhere he deems safe... He's often trying to find ways to check in on you.

Raiden as a platonic yandere no doubt means well.

In his eyes, he's protecting you from the dangers this world has to offer.

It's just... how he does it that tends to put you on edge....

It's hard not to be nauseous when Raiden swings his sword unless you're also used to it.

Seriously, in the words of Jetstream Sam in the game... Raiden turns people into hamburger.

Afterwards he usually turns you away, shielding your gaze as he mutters not to worry about it.

Best not to question him too much... He's technically your bodyguard even if you don't want him to.

He's got experience in that.

Raiden, due to being a cyborg, is probably also skilled in stalking.

While he normally just deals with missions through brute force... he can still do stealth like in the past.

So even if he left you for a while... There's a good chance he's going to find ways to continue watching you.

I don't think Raiden gets jealous... He gets tense.

He lets you talk to others, but he often hovers in the background.

He's like a concerned parent or big brother, eye trained on whoever you're talking to.

He's constantly surveying for threats, hands tensing at the thought of someone getting too close.

He'll behave for the most part... but the entire situation is very tense and he ends up cutting conversations short because he's so intimidating?

While I don't know if he'd do it in this scenario... Raiden could kidnap.

I mean, look at him?

With all those enhancements... one way or another he's leading you to where he wants you.

Even if he has to carry you.

Luckily, in this scenario I feel like he more just shadows you like a bodyguard.

Although it's unnerving to know at any time he could just... take you away.

It would not be too surprising if we assume Raiden wants to use any means necessary to make sure you don't become like him.

In his eyes, isolating you would be like shielding you from the trauma he went through.

Essentially... His obsession would stem from trauma fueled paranoia.

Tragic and unnerving.

But... his protection is worth it, right...?

He may scare others away from you... make you alone except for him... but he means well, right?

He needs to use any means necessary to make sure your life is different from his.

I honestly like the idea of a yandere who has a good motive... but their way of pursuing their darling for said motive is corrupted.

After all, it's probably not healthy to be so closely associated with a cyborg who slaughters anyone around you and drives away anyone who gets close to you.

Raiden is a man who has been burned too many times, especially as a child.

Just rely on him... He knows what he's doing, right?

He's just saving you from the potential pain you could go through if the wrong person gets their hands on you...
