Wanna say sorry for writing slowing. My cat has passed away and I'm not handling it very well at all and it's gonna take me awhile to recover and mourn.
Couldn't get the roommate arc out of my head so I made some headcanons to quench my thirst. Ngl I was struggling with coming up with stuff because there's only so much to go off of and I'm not a very good judge of character. Your headcanons had addressed so much already I feared I might repeat something, or in an attempt at making mine different I would try to come up with something new, botching Fritz's character in the process. I had fun nonetheless in making these, and I hope you find joy in reading them too.
WARNINGS: yandere stuff, toxic friendship, self deprecation, i have dyslexia so theres possibly some misspellings, i proofread this once, gender neutral reader
If you brought this rat home willingly you probably got a few screws loose yourself. No matter if it was an action brought on by pity or an honest deed to do good, you're not exempt from the stares you'll get with him on your heels.
To house him is to house a rabid animal, while he roots in your fridge at ungodly hours, presenting to you something from said fridge as if asking if you want some when caught. He does give you your privacy when asked, albeit, with bated breath as he awaits your return. Fritz can go from super clingy to awkwardly distant, as if he's studying you, watching your every move, at that moment you're not in your home but a cage in your own zoo.
Even now that he has a home he still rummages through your trash to get a sense of who you are, what one throws away can tell a lot about them.
Living with him can be isolating, the only real interactions you have with others are at your job, a job he probably also works at. Glaring down your coworkers as they try to convey with you. That's not to say that you don't have a way of working around his unnerving behavior when the time comes. Fritz believes you to be the center of his world since he laid his crazed eyes upon you and nothing's swayed his interest thus far. But if you trick his inquisitive mind into thinking that option A will lead to outcome B then he's more susceptible to letting you rome free, watching you in action without his interference.
Fritz, being the proud owner of zero social skills, mimics your actions towards him in an attempt of showing kinship. Treat others how you want to be treated as they say, and he took that literally. Grabbing onto your hands when you're anxious, tracing smal circles with his thumb on your knuckles in hopes of relieving your stress. Giving you a moment of silence once he realises you're about to explode with rage. Blocking people's view of you when you tear up in the company of others. Giving you a hearty pat on the back when you've accomplished something. While sweet, it doesn't always go as smoothly.
Circling back to you two working at the same job, if Frickbears happens to be your place of operation then Fritz will make sure you both occupy the office at the same hours at the same nights at the same time… He'll also drag you into salvaging animatronics at the bosses commands. Talking your ear off as he tampers with them, showing you the intricate details of their mechanisms, it's nice hearing him talk about something that isn't you. He values your input when it comes to choosing which anematronic you wanna take back to the pizzeria. Info dumping about the ones that catch your eye or happen to be your favorite. Warning, IF YOUR FAVORITE ANIMAL SO HAPPENS TO BE A RABBIT DON'T MENTION IT IN THE FIRST LOCATION. FRITZ WILL HAUL SPRINGTRAP BACK AND THEN YOU'LL BE HUMILIATED ONCE VANNY REALIZES THAT WAS JUST A FLUCK AND NOT A DELIBERATE CHOIS AS FRITZ POINTS OUT HER COSTUME TO YOU, HFNDSJIFHUSDGFIUV, ID DIE… Heh, wouldn't it be funny if you accidentally stumble your way into the ultimate route by chanse, then Michael would also be there to watch your trainwreck too, tehe.
The ride home is usoly quiet once you clock out, despite not showing it watching you on sleepless nights has taken its toll on his ridged body. He takes his time studying your vulnerable disposition, enjoying your mellow state leaning into him for support. If it wasn't for the taxi arriving at your shared apartment complex you would have easily fallen asleep.
Once you fall into a pattern, living with Fritz feels less like a stagnant standoff and more like a, ehhh, what i can best described as a plant growing inside of a normal homelife shaped base, its cramped but atleast its tamed. Normal, yeah, as normal as Fritz can get, which isn't a lot but you manage, if you ignore the piles of documents Fritz accumulated about you.
It's no lie that Fritz smells, even a person with anosmia can sense that, so finding a shampoo that gels well with his “hair type”, is a top priority in the first few weeks of his arrival. Speaking of hair, its hella tangled, it'd take a couple of hours to untangle it. I hope you didn't like your combs because they're gonna break, a lot. Fritz likes the attention though, enjoying how you try not to hurt him while brushing out his rats nest. Sitting on the flor between your legs as he watches tv with you propped up on the couch, fighting for your life. Unfortunately his distinctive smell is another beast entirely. No matter how much you try, conditioner, deodorant, car air freshener, the unmistakable smell of garbage follows him wherever he goes. But that's ok.
At least that's what you tell yourself, WHAT you've been telling yourself for the past few fleeting months, that this is fine when in reality you just conditioned yourself to tolerate it. But you can't back out now, you've come this far, you just started to get a sense of normalcy, you can't throw it all away now. Besides, what would you do? Where would you go? Back to a life before he wandered in, (puhh, good luck kicking him out), when you were living by yourself, all alone? No one lets a man like that into their house unless they're desperate. Admit it, you wanted this, to be wanted, loved, cherished unconditionally, even if it came at the cost of your social standing, like you even had one. People only care to turn their heads your way now because he's in the picture, but why care about them when you have someone so much more important? A shoulder to cry on, a suffocating cage, a friend.
… Friend, huh? Is that all you were, and nothing else… that can't be right. His mannerism, face splitting smile, his… everything, they weren't the actions of someone who had it all together, but did he care, care about you? You couldn't tell, not with the way he stares right through you, what does he see… What does he truly see? And what does friendship mean to him, really? Companionship, or a lock without a key.

After I reblogged those yandere Fritz headcanons I took a nap so bad I got sick, anyways here are my unwarranted rambles.
Your writing lowkey helped me realize my FNAFB sona. I've been a fan of the franchise before fnaf 2 released and I wanted to ingrain that into my character. But my sona aside, what if Fritz wasn't the only fnaf fascinato in the establishment, finding a kinship with someone who shares his fascination with the walking tincans. Whether they're as stir-crazed about them as Fritz is is up for debate.
I feel bad for anyone that can't listen to someone talk without becoming mentally exhausted (me) especially when already drained of power, and with how chatty Fritz can get this exaggerates the problem. Not sure if this would deter Fritz or encourage him to keep going, I doubt it would be on purpose though once he realizes. Since, as you stated, Fritz's sense of personal space is almost nonexistent, he'd let them lean on him or hold on to him so they don't sway too hard from exhaustion.
Despite being indifferent to his obsessions view of him i think he'd prefer it if they were happy.
With how Fritz reacted to being told he's working overtime I can imagine he would react similarly when his person of interest calls him their friend. Whether it's in a joking way like “hello my beautiful friend with a disorder” or genuine he'd be positively frothing at the mouth, shaking like a chihuahua. From what I gather from his dialog with Michael, Fritz has no friends, so gaining one that reciprocates his feelings of comradery makes him feel euphoric.
This man would be of almost no help if they fell ill, his bad hygiene might actually worsen their condition. With how bad he smells I would be surprised his friend hadn't caught on that he'd broken into their home earlier unless he was upfront about it. Or they were already living together and they made him take a shower.
While unrealistic I really like the idea of the self insert giving Fritz a place to crash at when they found out he's (from my understanding) homeless, the potential roommate arc makes my hamster wheel turn. This could simultaneously be chaotic as it could be domestic. Going with the notion that they both work at the same job, Fritz would deliberately sit right next to them in the taxi ride to said job and back home. Staring at them staring out the window.
“Haunt, The Cartoon Heart” is the first song that I visualized Fritz's new adoration to, (just reread the lyrics and oh my god, it fits so GOOD). While an impassioned ballad, (trust me, it's hard to find songs about obsessions that's not entwined with romantic subtext). One could interpret the blunt love confessions as Fritz's words failing him and resorting to sentences that get the point across. What others outside their circle might see is a passionate, if a bit of puting, display of love (though knowing the man I don't know if he'd use the word love, ehh, whatever). To Fritz and his friend that's just how they communicate. Or they're in a querplatonic relationship and don't care for social norms.
They could do no wrong in Fritz's pin pricked eyes, murder, littering or petty theft, he fain ignorance to the police as long as he's not separated from them. Or he commits a crime so he winds up in the slammer alongside them.
As overbearing Fritz's obsession can be doesn't mean he can't take all that if the roles were switched, him the muse and his instigator the painter. To break him would be hard if that's their intention, it's easier to play his game then to initiate one. To “love” him is to be humble in your own hunting grounds. Even in this scenario he would be the one dragging them around, talking to his coworkers as they gnaw and droll on his arm, contracting a disease in the process. He doesn't care much as long as it doesn't hinder his mechanical endeavors, his indifference would probably drive them crazy, more than they were before, if that's even possible. Now, imagine this but they're BOTH crazy for eachother >:)

The sona idea does sound very cool! I've never been much into making sonas or such but it's always cool seeing other people's ideas.
I agree with the fritz point with the talking. I don't think he'd notice or even he did it wouldn't deter him efficiently. Maybe it'd make him talk quieter but not less. He does things he thinks helps the issue but really don't improve it much.
He does want them to be happy but the indifference is more so their current reaction. He won't stop until he thinks they're happy. Regardless of if they're currently afraid, he thinks he can figure it out, and fix it. No matter how long it takes. He won't be dissuaded. Relationships have bumps in the road naturally. He just dosen't realize the bumps are from him making big ass pot holes in said road.
He is taking any positive feedback and running a marathon. He's still running a mile even without it.
With being sick i could see him being good at taking care of one specific illness or symptom but anything else he isn't gonna be able to help.
Haven't heard that song but I'll give it a listen some time. I agree with all that's said with Fritz.

❆ Well.. he's certainly. A character isn't he? When he's obsessed.. trust me you'll know. He is not ashamed, deceptive, or shy about it. He does not care or possibly consider it to be something wrong. He is already aware he is considered a strange individual and has very little care for that perception of those around him. That includes yours.
❆ How you caught his attention? It could be a plethora of ways, and it isn't a very hard task. Perhaps you're another nightguard, Freddy's employee, or he encounters you some other way. If you're wearing Freddy Fazbear's memorabilia then that's a sure way to get him scampering over to you. You WILL be bombarded with a whole rant on whatever memorabilia you have and the history behind it. No you cannot shut him up.
❆ You more than likely attempt to shuffle away and dismiss the smelly, bloodshot, and crazed looking man. He just follows. Standing a bit too close, speaking a bit too rapidly to fully follow, and asking somewhat baffling things. You have a new.. friend? Congrats? Too bad? If you show an iota of interest in him talking he will take that to the moon.
❆ He's hard to shake off. His obsession forms very quick and very strong. With very little rhyme or reason. Perhaps you listen to him and his bizarre ramblings and detailed info dumps. Well you're getting more of that.
❆ If you're working on the night shift with him.. you just hate yourself. Oh, you aren't? You are now. Why? He said so. Come, come with him, friend! Look at these wonderful machines! All while explaining all their mechanics, inner workings, history, and speculative theories around them. Oh yeah did he mention they are liable to kill both of you?
❆ One silver lining is that you won't die. Probably. This man moves at the speed of light around the office you probably don't even need to do anything. Ignore the fact he's the reason the animatronics are now much more deadly due to his tampering. All while he still yaps to you. Occasionally abruptly stopping what he's doing to just stare at you and goes back to moving at the speed of light until 6am. He's dragging you out with him when the clock chimes.
❆ You'll also get a front row seat to the animatronic fighting ring he made! No. You heard that and are now seeing it right. He needs a referee, would you like to do it? He thinks you'd do wonderful! Actually, never mind. He made the game. He knows the rules the best. Perhaps after you watch a few games! Yes!
❆ Personal space isn't something he really heeds to either. He's standing shoulder to shoulder with you. He's putting his face way too close to yours. He may even try to do things like sit on your lap or hitch a piggy back ride off of you and nearly topple you over. He likes you!.. so he also likes your personal space. Unfortunately. It may be advised to bring nose plugs to work. Maybe ear plugs too.
❆ Hes paying attention to every minute detail of you. Your small habits, fidgets, idiosyncrasies, features, and anything that can be observed is burned into his brain. He will notice when anything changes. He will say something about it. Hello, your behavior has changed, why? Why aren't you doing this thing? Why did you start doing this thing? He wants to know. He will start infodumping to you about yourself and your own behavior.
❆ He has all of this information and more categorized in files he has at home into hyper specific categories. Yes, that does include your bank information and SSN. How he'd get them? Beats me. He will ask you questions he already knows the answer to simply here you talk to him. Giddy to see you happy about something you're talking about. As much as he loves yapping your ear off he likes you doing the same. If anything he tries to goad you into doing so.
❆ This goes for your schedule too. He will also confront or make off-hand remarks about anytime it changes. He will start to make your schedule his schedule. He will follow you around with no shame. Nothing will deter him. Perhaps if others intervene but not for very long. He will simply watch from a slightly further distance.
❆ He will do your hobbies with you. You just won't know. Kicking his feet as he watches a show through your window while you sit on your couch. Mimicking a craft you're doing hastily. Eating some random junk he found of questionable safety as you eat your meals.
❆ Your hobbies and interests? His now. He'll become more educated on them than you. Correcting you on your own likes. You'll get strange gifts on your door.. or hell inside your home of supplies for hobbies. He wouldn't want anyone stealing his oh so valuable gifts, so why not break in and put them directly into your home? You called the cops? Why? He doesn't see the issue. Here's his house key! To a wrong address. He forgot where he lives. It doesn't matter anyways.
❆ He frequently breaks into your home. Rummaging through everything, stealing things, and sitting on the floor of your room as you sleep. He's probably moved some of his own shit hidden in a part of your house. That's his home too now. No it's not negotiable even if you scream at him and call the cops. Again. You'll probably have to kick a few animatronics he brought with him out too.
❆ Your fear is not unnoticed.. it just blends into everything else. He's aware he is seen as weird, a freak of nature, and bizarre. He wears it with pride! Your reaction is not new to him. He thinks it's silly. He will try to calm you in his own odd way. More strange shows of affection. Like aggressively handing you all of his paycheck money after a shift. He doesn't need it. He probably has taken notice of things you do to self soothe or things that calm you. He will attempt to, and fail, to mimic them.
❆ Confronting him also does nothing. He will admit to it and seeing nothing wrong. Yes he's been watching for for precisely 2 weeks, 5 days, 4 hours, 25 minutes and 30 seconds. Why? Yes, he also took a visit to your house. Your door was locked so he picked the lock. He can unpick it too if you'd like. He also repaired part of your car the other night too. You should really check your oil. Why are you looking at him like that?
❆ He does get jealous with others interacting with you. He mainly assumes they're the annoyance, or a threat. Back off foul- oh you know them? How unfortunate. Why are they here? Can they leave?? He's either going to stare at them unnervingly until they go or talk really loudly over them. He wants your attention on him.
❆ Similar goes for if someone tries to take his focus off of you. How dare they. This is the most exciting and fulfilling moment of his life. He has no time for someone who's so dull in comparison. If they cut you off he's livid. He still has that big grin on his face as he blatantly insults them. Then he goes back to talking to you. If they keep doing it he's going to shine a flashlight directly into their eyes. Silence.
❆ If anyone has done anything to legitimately harm you. Especially if you show visible fear of discomfort. He is outright stepping between you and them. No! No! They don't get to talk to you. He's cutting them off every time they try to talk. Mocking them. Making stupid noises. Blowing raspberries. Cow noises. Meowing. He will do it until they leave. He does not care how long it takes. He dosen't need sleep anyways.
❆ Depending on their relation to Fazbears.. they may find that the animatronics are far more aggressive. There's also animatronics they didn't salvage there. There's also more outside waiting for them. They don't work there? Guess who's getting a deadly robot drop shipped to their door and signed up for spam newsletters.
❆ Any endings or routes are ignored so he can spend his time following you around. Cooing over you as he skips after you with a chipper smile. Even if he collects the extra animatronics, masks, or the Talbert files. He's hanging up on the boss. He's dragging you two away as Vanny and Micheal bicker. They all just want something from you both.
❆ He just wants you. He wants every piece. Every moment. Every drop of information. You are like a mechanism he wants to know every wire, every code, every gear, and every single atom that makes it work. One that makes him more alive than any of the machines in that old establishment.
❆ He is very difficult to get rid of. It's nearly impossible even. Yet it's so easy for him to set his bloodshot eyes on you and attach himself. His crazed nature and lunatic title is not without warrant. Best to tread lightly and hope he can get snatched up by the lackluster authorities of Hurricane.. who knows if cell bars will even stop him?
❆ One day you may find yourself someone else where you wake.. or it's your own home turned into a prison and boarded up so preparing for the apocalypse. A new roommate waiting for you to stir with that familiar grin.

❆ He's there for every canto. Every sinner. You're definitely a sinner in this case. It's only natural he'd witness yours too. This will be building off of previous base headcanons.
❆ It's known far before it ever happens when your turns comes. It's an easy guess. Everyone can generally tell who's next within the little cycle, everyone's picked up on the trend.
❆ He probably knows a bit about your background. Not every detail.. some details even he can't know. However he knows where you come from, your ailments, all of that. What brought you to this hell on wheels. He's preparing as much as he can to make your chapter smooth sailing.
❆ He'll question you about your background. Keeping in mind what district limbus company will need to travel through. He'll like usual negotiate with the appropriate people and cooperate bodies. All while keeping you out of sight if need be. They don't need to know you're on the bus. Depending on whether or not you're in trouble by going there.
❆ If you have any notable enemies, he'll keep watch. It doesn't matter how little or or much information is given to him, he'll keep it in the forefront of his mind and scope for people who fit the description. Given a name? Great. He'll keep them in line. Or if possible.. eviscerate them into a puddle.
❆ He's very conflicted emotionally. He sees what the others went through. They aren't easy journeys. They never are. Old wounds will reopen. On one hand.. he wants to stop it. Your turn doesn't need to come yet. You don't need to suffer through your past again.
❆ Ultimately he knows he can't. The golden bough pulls you further. Resonates with you. The other sinners fought their turns and yet it still went and came. It was all necessary growth for them.. no matter how grim. He won't deny you the growth and closure you may receive from it. He can't even if he wanted to. He knows it'll only hurt you more if he tries to hold you back. So he'll simply make the road less bumpy for you.
❆ He watches over from the shadows of the bus. Interactions with other Sinners, your mood during conversations, and talks with Dante. He'll correct things when he thinks they need to be corrected. You're mostly left to take the reign. He trusts Dante and Faust to steer you the right way towards that goal.. other sinners may get a firm warning if they try to back talk you.
❆ He prefers if Dante keeps you out of most Battles. This is your turn.. it should be best you're in the best shape possible right? There will surely be a big fight. Even if he tries to prevent it. Deep down he knows there'll be some great threat like all the others. Your own sins stain you.. and he still loves you regardless.
❆ When downtime is available, he will bring you to the front of the bus, where it's quieter. He doesn't expect you to talk or make you talk. He's content to sit in your presence. To know you're alive, breathing, shuffling, and staring out the bus window beside him.
❆ You'll be given small gifts. Either some money to spend, food you like, or some item. He'll leave them at the door inside your room or outright give it to you in private.
❆ You'll get oddly frequent knocks on your living space. Vergilius checking in. Peeking past your shoulder into your room. Trying to gleam what it reflects. As the rooms do warp to a sinner's mood and feelings. He may outright ask if you need support.. he's not the best at it. However he is still here. He's willing to carry some of the pain for you. He'll carry all of it if you let him.
❆ He may even do something he wouldn't usually do, and check in on you while you sleep. Stepping in quietly to watch for a bit. Before patrolling the rest of the bus. Anyone who sees him doing such are swiftly silenced. He heard strange noises from you room and felt obligated to check. Everything was fine. They should return back to their room.
❆ When things ultimately hit a high, big fights, and tough foes. He is quick to intervene. He knows he'll get in trouble. He doesn't care. He'll face the consequences like he did before. He did it for Heathcliff, he did it multiple times during Ryōshū's canto, and he stood his ground. Why wouldn't he do it for you? He'd do it for you a thousand times over if it meant he could shield you from the worst.
❆ You're getting the most shield in battle. He doesn't care if you can be revived. He'll aid you in battle, rushing in to take larger hits for you, and coming in after you land your own hits.
❆ The storm does eventually pass. You have your moment. The weight of your chains feel a bit ligther.. and the bus wheels spins again. Perhaps you aren't fully done.. such as with Gregor with his canto. However it is evident that you've changed.
❆ It hurts Vergilius to see in a way. He loves you. The old you. The one he fell for. Yet.. he knows this change is for the better. Whatever changes. It is another part of you to infatuate over. You were going to change eventually whether he liked it or not. He will still be there to guide you when the next storm comes.
