Model Ideas

For my 3D piece, I’d like to use brown wax to make a scene of the Jurassic Period. Some plants and animals on a piece of land. Then, I’ll use some sort of natural force(water, wind, fire) to take effect on this land. After that, I’ll use white spray paint to spray from the top. Since the land will be uneven, the gap will remain brown color. These brown color will indicate the hachures. The whole process will be recorded as my 4D outcomes. Also, I’m thinking about using resin with blue pigment to seal the whole scene into maybe a rectangle as the final 3D piece. The reason for using blue pigment is to achieve a water effect which indicates that the land is flattened and the water runs over it.

2D piece

At this point, I want to make my 2D outcome as a simple poster. “Hachures” is in a serif typeface because hachures were used in ancient maps. The definition is in san serif because the word has been defined in modern words. Then I’ll pick a typical landform and translate it into hachures maps. I might use some bright solid color as the background. 

Landforms will be an interesting focal point.
