Early Childhood - LandformsÂ
The Montessori Land and Water Forms materials introduce the child to a concrete experience of common topographical features such as island and lake, cape and bay, archipelago and system of lakes, gulf and peninsula, and isthmus and strait. This work is naturally appealing to young children  and introduces proper language for topography at a time when children are more easily able to remember and integrate unusual words. Cleaning up the material helps children to take responsibility for their work space, while developing coordination, independence, and a sense of order.
Wave rock
One of many caverns on the side of the Uluru hollowed out by the erosion. Frequently, such landforms resemble a wave and can be found throughout arid regions of Australia. Many hypotheses exist on formation processes and include for example, wind erosion and underground weathering.
