PEEEEEEEASEEEEE!!!!!!!!

Hi Kim!!! this prompt has been in my WIP file for so long and I thought while I was just sitting here I’d finish it!! (Read on ao3)

Just a quick word though) As some of you know, I have been and am going through some patches of ill health. I'm currently sitting in the emergency waiting room as I finished writing this and its been a while since I've written anything and with s5 airing, I thought it'd be a great time to write something. 

Writing brings me such immense joy and I know for a lot of people, its a tough time right now so I hope this fic finds you some comfort and joy as it did for me to write this fic. 

David always liked to take care of people, especially when they were sick, it made him feel needed. Laura would always laugh and say he got that trait from their mother but David knew that their mother was never one to feel the need to care for people but instead, their mother felt like it was an obligation or a chore for her to tend to sick loved ones. He hated when Laura says that because he doesn’t feel like its a chore rather, something he does out of the kindness of his own heart.

The only person he hates taking care of when they’re sick is Matteo. His boyfriend has a tendency to turn into a 19-year-old baby when he gets sick, he gets grumpy, stubborn and whiney. The last time Matteo got sick, he didn’t move from his bed for days and was practically becoming one with his sheets, David had to peel him off the bed and all but threw him in the bathtub. 

(2) diagnosis. If I want. I don't know yet. Its a lot and I don't know if I have that strength rn. But she took it seriously. She listened. And she agreed that a lot fits. Still you can have many symptoms and not be autistic. But that's what a professional has to find out with proper testing. Also she really likes what you are doing with your platform. And she loves that it helped me. In the end she also told me that I am good like I am and that almost made me cry lol

(3) So yeah. That's my story. Thanks for always listening. Being there for me when I didn't know who else to talk to. You have been a great support and I probably don't express my gratitude properly. But thanks. For everything. I don't know if this is the end or not. We will see. All the love to you and take care 💕

And it’s so cool to see that it is you! I’ve always considered you a friend. Your comments on Light Shines Eternal always made my day and it was so fun to have an ongoing conversation there with your comments and my replies. And now we have been having this convo! It all just makes me smile!! :)

And yayayayayay! You got to talk to your therapist! That’s so awesome, and I’m so proud of you for speaking with her about this. I know you’ve been waiting for a while and it’s been a roller coaster, getting here, but you got here and you did it, which is so fantastic! I’m really glad it was a productive, even healing conversation. Having someone like your therapist give you such attention, care, and support is a wonderful thing. You have always been valid, my friend, but I hope that this step on your journey makes it easier to hold tight to your validity. Finding validation can be such an empowering thing, and I’m really happy that you are here on the other side of this conversation with your therapist.

I’m glad to hear that she gave you some resources about next steps you could take. It’s nice to have options in your back pocket. And they are all totally legitimate, good and valid options. You can pursue a professional diagnosis or not, you can self-diagnosis or not, you can do these things now or in the future— you can take this wherever you feel called. And I hope you do follow that call in your heart, mind, gut— whatever speaks to you. Wherever things go from here, I hope you walk forward with agency and an eye towards self-love. That is my hope and eternal wish for you— all the self-love and empowerment in the world.

And like your therapist said so wonderfully— you are good just as you are. So good and I am so proud of you for all the good you have been doing for yourself.
