XÆNON

This is my O.C., "XÆNON" A.K.A "Knock-Off-Flux"

Peter Chung's Æon Flux was injected into my veins at the impressionable age of eleven, and has since become the dragon I can't stop chasing. Rewatching its shorts and series now, I find myself loving them with the same intensity as I did in my youth.

Beyond its philosophically feral narratives, super weird alien worlds, surreal eroticism, exotic motion, and hella-fkn SIK drawings, Æon Flux offered a glimpse into an alternate reality of what American animation could have been. In the past ten to fifteen years, we've had some spiritual successors like Scavengers Reign, Love Death and Robots, and Titmouse's Motorcity, but I'd still love to see more edgy, auteur animation merge within the zeitgeist of the American people. Long form, even more so.

Since my ego will not allow me to copy anything directly, I created my own Knock-Off-Flux to experiment with and explore a world adjacent to one of my favorite creations. I'll be posting more images from this brief XÆNON drawing series that I made for my own enjoyment and to share with you.
