Jude focuses on the wound, checking it out to see what the necessary treatment would be. They had removed the bullet a short moment ago, and the man had already woken up. He was surprised at that, with the drugs they had used. Most would still be asleep. Sadly, it seemed like the pain medication had worn off. âI just said that because of how tense you are. You need to let me to clean and dress your wounds. I know it hurtsâŚbut if you keep doing what you are now, youâll bleed MORE.â
And it should hurt. He shouldnât have been awake at all for the surgery. He shouldnât have had the medicine wear off so fast. It was all odd, and new. It happened at times with people who had procedures done enough, but he should have had the orders for a higher dosage.
âAnd I do know what Iâm doing. Iâve been here a while.â He answers again, a bit more serious this time. It was like the man was insulting him. He wasnât some amateur. âDo you get wounds like this a lot?â
Hopefully, with asking some questions, he could knock down some of their options. He wanted to figure out why he wasnât being affected so much.
Victor growls, but he tries to relax his arm and hand as much as possible. Itâs hard--it hurts, dammit!--but hopefully he made an improvement. Heâs worried about his arm, and he wants to avoid interfering with the doctorâs work as much as possible.
That doesnât stop him from glaring at the younger man out of the corner of one eye. He doesnât trust him entirely, but unfortunately, a doctor was a doctor in an emergency. Itâd be fine as long as this one could be convinced to keep his mouth shut. Hopefully.
â...Itâs happened before,â he answers finally, grudgingly. âNot my shoulder though. Iâve been on the wrong end of a knife a few times as well.â
Wild Ride
[Closed starter for @xxmathis]
Elle clambered up the side of a big boulder, oblivious to the dust and dirt that clung to her clothing. She stood triumphantly at the top of her challenge, her arms spread wide as a breeze played through her pigtails, bringing with it the smell dry smell of dirt coupled with the sharp tang of the spindly bushes that were resistant to the harsh environment of the Torbalan Highroad. From Elleâs new vantage point she was taller than Alvin, and definitely taller than Jude, who stood watching her at the base of the boulder.
âLook at me, Jude! Look how high I climbed!â The laughed, giving a small twirl on her rock. In the distance she saw a herd of mares run across the walking path. Elle crouched down, so as to better talk with Jude. âHey,â she pointed to the beasts, âdo you think I could ride one of those?â

Did he look overwhelmed by the heat, or something? Judeâs gaze falls to the cone, then back up to the provider, appearing (understandably) confused. He tries to smile nonetheless, not wanting to offend this person.
âI⌠uh, thanks.â
Actually, the person looked pretty familiar. They had met briefly before, hadnât they?
âDo you really want me to have this?â
Isaac wasnât sure who the other was, but it was on the warm side and the man was in long sleeves. He had yet to show any signs of heatstroke, but preventative measures were always better than treatments.
âOf course, and youâre welcome. I hope youâre fine with vanilla.â He offered a soft smile hoping it was ease their awkward exchange. He took a bite out of his own cone since he might as well have some too.

Alvin flipped out his GHS with a light sigh, the elevator dinging lightly as its door opened revealing a long hallway. There were assorted potted plants in between the doorways - probably to make the apartment walkway look a lot more live-able against the drab grey walls.
He stopped in front of a particular door, a small black marking on the panel of âJ. Mathis.â Looking down at his GHS he re-read the text.Â
âIâm sorry Alvin. I canât hang out. Iâve got a research deadline to hit.
Another time, maybe?â
He let out a light smirk, quickly typing a message into the ghs and hitting send.Â
âYouâre way too uptight, you know that? Â
You should maybe try to live a little outside of that research of yours.Â
Still got time after all. Also, Iâm at your door.â

tfw ur dead lovers are talking to each other.

Dammit. Just when he thought he could hide out far from these damned exorcists. Yet here he is, cornered by the man and his Malakhim. The daemonâs lance is drawn, and what little humanity remains doesnât want to fight -- gods no, he doesnât want to fight. Should it come down to it, heâll make no hesitation. Maybe intimidating the exorcist will work... He seems young and somewhat fragile, anyway.
âD-donât...come any closer...!â Well. Maybe it wonât work.

âI⌠I get that.â Assurance was more than necessary in this instance, was it not? - maybe it wasnât the wisest move, or so one would think, but he wasnât sure he was as afraid of Victor as others were. âBut yelling at them wonât help. Theyâre trying to get a reaction like this out of you.â
This was a little unsettling to Jude, seeing the other like this, but he was going to tell him what he needed to.
âSo⌠calm down, okayâŚ? If not for yourself, then for herâŚâ
âMn...â Victor feels his teeth grind together, but he bites back his anger--and, by the iron taste in his mouth, his tongue too. After a moment, his expression melts back into a pleasant smile thatâs just a little too perfect.
âIâm fine now,â he offers after a moment. âYou donât need to worry about me, Dr. Mathis. Iâm sure theyâll get what they deserve.â
