Gavin had gone into work with a grudge, something about getting food poisoning from the night before.  As much as it killed him to walk through the doors and get to work, the next few hours didn't go well.  He knew something wasn't right, considering a third of Team Lads hadn't been there and Kerry (god damn it) had to fill in for filming.  Where was Ray?  It wasn't like him to not be at work.  And then, the phone at work rang.  Of course, Gavin was the one to answer it.  And of course, as soon as the words hit him he dropped the phone.

Ray was dead.

It wasn't like him to go wander off by himself, but for whatever reason he'd been hit by a car downtown.  He may have just been getting food, or walking down to the office to see what was going on, but Gavin got the call and he was the one that had to relay the news to everyone.  "Ray's...been hit by a car.  The paramedics pronounced 'im dead a' the scene.  Sixteenth an' King's Road."  Most of the office went out the door with Geoff last, placing a hand on Gavin's shoulder.  He didn't move.
