reina learns, from a young age, the art of shrinking so that others may take up space. she does this for jinhyeok without thinking, cheers him on in his basketball friendlies even when she can barely find it within herself to appreciate the game. somehow and despite how small she subconsciously makes herself, kim jinhyeok always finds her. whether it be in the middle of a sporting crowd or deep in the quiet section of the engineering library, he'll always show up somehow, be it a lingering look or a soft nudge. reina learns, then, that people have a way of finding you no matter how hard you make it for them. they just have to try hard enough. in this way, kim jinhyeok always will find maruyama reina.

in the same way, maruyama reina will always go out of her way to search for kim jinhyeok. the man disappears on his birthday every year, and reina finally finds him sitting alone in a cafe on the morning of his sixteenth birthday. she sinks into the chair beside him, a faint smile on her face as though to say i'm sorry it took me so long to find you. he's not the kim jinhyeok she knows that day, but reina shrinks for him anyway, rests her head on his shoulder and promises to wait by him in silence until he finds himself again.
