Today's legend is "El Xocomil". Before the existance of lake Atitlán, there were three rivers. Citlatzin was a beautiful woman, who had a beautiful voice and the three rivers fell in love with her. The three rivers consider themself to be her lovers even though she was engaged with another man. One Citlatzin fell in love with a poor man. The rivera saw how Citlatzin's body began to change since she had encounters with this new man. When they found out about this new man they controlled the wind so it pushed the lovers to the enraged waters and drowned.
