she had just got done demoing her father’s newest rifle- one that barely had any noticeable recoil on her small frame. a beaming smile to the man- Alex, she’ll call him Sasha, she’s decided, once he’s no longer Mr. Khanna- as she sets the unloaded weapon down and takes off her ear protection.  “Res ipsa loquitur, sir, if you’d pardon the Latin.”

slurred words from big men. it’s said that is how the world ends.

@xnablerthey’re dangerous- the way walking down a hill in the morning is. the hill, your feet. harmless. (add in dew.) the smiles, their swarthy good looks. harmless. (add in something they need.) the poor men in the room don’t know what they’re in for. (and men, all, alexi notes, what a shame. perhaps the opposition would stand a chance if they had a woman with them.) khanna is a good person to have do the talking. bauer offers quiet support and counterpoints. (he was a parlimentarian at annapolis, four years of debate. he waits his turn to speak, but he knows how.) he adjusts his cufflinks, little smile in place as they walk down the halls of the senate. no uniform today. his suit fits him well, his shoulders still square despite the additional weight of the wool, the absence of apparent rank. there’s no denying that looking good helps the cause. “you make the convincing look just as easy, sir.” annunciation, g’s present at the end of words. a laugh as the good captain opens the door for the senator.  (protocol. manners. both men have a duty to do.) “i’m right behind you.” 

Business is not his forte. He’s better behind the barrel of a gun than he is a stuffy meetings in offices around the world. Sometimes it’s a little annoying how much is expected from him. “Nice view.”
