#xmas asks

Hi!

I’m researching Christmas traditions/customs etc worldwide and would like to hear about how your country, or culture, or family or you specifically celebrate Christmas! :)

For example, in Japan, Christmas/Xmas Eve is more a day geared for couples and doing anything together for Christmas is more important here than Valentine’s. They even have a term for people who are alone/single on Christmas day- クリぼっち, read kuri-bocchi! It is a compound word of kuri- from kurisumasu (christmas) and -bocchi from hitoribocchi (alone). Even if you spend Christmas together with your family here, it can still be called kuribocchi as it isn’t with a partner. The aroma of fried chicken will permeate the air and all the hotels gets booked up.  Familes and couples and singles will buy what they call a Christmas Cake here to eat. 

I haven’t celebrated Christmas for many years with my family ever since I moved to Tokyo. And I will be a kuribocchi this year TwT  I often get homesick and sad around this time, but I wish to hear about how you all celebrate Christmas worldwide! Is it wholesome and fluffy? Warm and cozy? “Just lucky, I guess.” FP blows his nose heartily on a tissue. “Maybe I’m allergic to all your good cheer.” 

“Poor baby.” Fred climbs onto the sofa next to him, planting a kiss on his red cheek. “You’re too sick to go caroling, aren’t you?” 

“Probably shouldn’t risk it.” FP’s voice comes out hoarse and raspy. Fred snuggles up against him, nuzzling his chin into his shoulder. 

“Maybe we’ll just have to stay here and watch a movie. Have me take care of you.” 

FP blows his nose loudly. “I swear, you like seeing me like this.” 

“Absolutely not.” Fred places a firm kiss to FP’s mouth. “But do I like you immobile and cuddly? I won’t lie.” 

“You kissed me on the mouth.... you’re going to get sick...”

Karma: they could of died from the cold, hunted down as pry, starved or subsumed to injury's, and spirits who have unfinished business, or they want their bodies to be found can not go to the afterlife until they are found or have completed what ever unfinished business they had. but judging by how happy they seem to be here my guess is that they want to spend Christmas one last time before they go...
