Ben seemed to like this one. Kylo was still on the fence about her. The latter was who turned to face Penelope and Kylo tilted his head at her wonder. Was it truly that strange to her that he’d kill someone who was trying to take her life?
“I did,” he answered. He stepped away from the corpses without bothering to cast them a second glance. They didn’t deserve more of his attention. Of course, in her line of work, he wasn’t surprised that someone was going to come after her on occasion, but that didn’t mean that he couldn’t take them out either.
A smile, quite unlike Ben’s, came across his face. “Maybe now they’ll know better than to come after you. Did no one tell them that you have someone to protect you now?” Surely, Reid had let her in on the fact that Ben had a certain duality to him, that boy was smarter than Kylo was comfortable with. Good thing he could snap him like a twig if he so desired.
