Did you get the second ask I sent yesterday, the one where I explained how I become panicked? I don't mean to rush you but I just want to be sure since some of my previous asks haven't gone through. -Xiaole
Hello Xiaole,
Casey answered your question here for you:http://mental-health-advice.tumblr.com/post/88634076020/hi-so-i-become-deeply-upset-whenever-i-misplace
Take care,Alexandria.
Hi, so I become deeply upset whenever I misplace anything. When I first realize something's missing, I panic and have trouble breathing. If I can't find it after a while, I feel intense self-loathing. The last time I lost a contact lens, I tore apart my room and ended up collapsing onto the floor crying for 10 mins. I know I have low self-efficacy, which I think makes me view misplacing things as a lack of control over my environment. I don't know how I can change this pattern. -Xiaole
Hi there Xiaole,
I lose just about everything, its so frustrating! One of the reasons why this happens is we don't make the full memory of where we put things (and if you're like me and have your mind on other things you just tend to lose everything!) I would try to make a conscious note of where you put things when you put them down, forming a better memory of where you left it. Also trying to make a better organization of things, like always putting things in the place they belong and no where else, might help as well.
Not knowing where you put something or if something is misplaced is very frustrating, but does not define your efficacy, or ability to succeed, even the most successful misplace things, i know its hard to think this but your ability to remember where you put something does not reflect your worth/ability. I hope this helps, and if not, talking it out to someone about how you feel can help aswell, whether it be a trusted friend or a counselor if you want.
with love, Casey
Hi, I sent in a question about becoming panicked whenever I misplace something. The question built off previous questions that I sent but didn't go through. Would it be ok if I messaged MHA again explaining the whole thing? -Xiaole
Hello Xiaole,
Sure, that's completely fine. We're here to help as much as we can.
Take care,Alexandria.
