Hey! Hope u're doing good. I have a question that may stupid but I just want to get out the doubt. Is it possible to make hair that *doesn't* look like hair for a sim? In a sense that doesn't have a "hair" texture. For example, Splatoon hair?
hey!! not stupid at all, and to answer your question simply, yes!
when you make hairs (or any mesh for that matter) you choose what your texture is and how the object maps onto it.
for example, my Mulberry hair, which like all of mine, has a normal sims4 hair texture,
but say i was feeling silly and wanted idk a shiny crystal texture instead, all i do is change the texture like so:
(pretend the crystal image has been placed where the hair texture goes for sims)
notice how the UV (left side) is the same? thats because the mesh itself hasnt changed, only the texutre.
but! lets say i dont like the uniform look (its a crystal after all) so, like any mesh, i can easily remap how i want it to look by changing up the UV like so:
and now i have my hair textured for crystals , which again i can easily swap the image out with lets say this crystal instead or even slime if im extra freaky!!
obviously this is way more simplified than a full blown tut, but i thought visuals would help!!!!!!!
