It really bothers me that cis people like you and others are so quick to attack Caitlyn Jenner for her "internalised transphobia." She wasn't criticizing non-passing trans people, she was talking about her own experience and the reality that it DOES make cis people uncomfortable when a trans person doesn't pass, as poorly worded as she said it, she was right. Caitlyn Jenner has every right to try and pass. Cis people shouldn't be trying to dictate how Caitlyn does her transness.
Reblogging a post about Caitlyn Jenner is not an “attack.” The tweets featured in the Mic post I reblogged, were from trans folk. If you take issue with what they said, take it up with them. But my standing in solidarity with trans folks who are calling Caitlyn out is not an attempt to dictate her transness.
As a cis person the last thing I’m doing is telling a trans person how to be trans, because I have no clue. Instead, I’m listening to others. Of course not every trans person’s opinion on her or her comments is going to be the same, but it seems many people have been hurt by her comments. I’m not here to silence their voices or yours. But again, nothing I’ve said or done has been an “attack” on her or anyone else’s gender identity.
