Like, I know the show's kinda cheesy and campy at points, but what did Lucy Lawless ever do to you?

Where exactly in taldorei did you set the session? I’m gonna use the setting with people who don’t watch critrole as well and wonder how the setting/first area went? Confusing or just another (albeit newbie) dnd game?

I set their first adventure in Stilben, (it felt right) and other than giving them some background on where their characters were from, didn’t really tell them about the rest of the continent. The adventure I’m making up is very Stilben central, and I figure if they leave that town they can learn more, but I’m treating it like any kind of adventure where the players only learn about each town they visit one at a time.

Honestly, it ran about the same as another newbie D&D game to me! I tried not to let my enthusiasm for the show overwhelm my explanations of the world. That is, I limited the information I gave them for session 1, and I figure things will come up as needed in future sessions.
