(disclaimer attached to previous rant): sorry if that was off-topic, since I know this is a Canadian politics blog - one of my favourite blogs, in fact - and sorry if I might be wrong about some of the off topic things. My mom and I talk about Duterte in more detail whenever he comes up in the news (since a lot of our family lives in the Philippines, she explains to me more of the political landscape there) and I thought the information might be useful or interesting in this case Cheers!
Its not off topic, the Trudeau government was trying to sell helicopters to the Philippines, so this sale did have the potential to further cause human rights abuses in that country.

Just to add something about the helicopter deal and why it's not nice... If the helicopters are being used for "internal security", that probably means Duterte's continuing agenda of combatting the people he describes as "Maoists and Muslim insurgents", a description which could be extended to dissenting citizens of, say, Mindanao - where martial law has been extended for a year. So yeah... Rather a shitty thing to support, even if one ignores Duterte's whole murder-encouraging schtick.

I had a theory that the book was real, and the ‘two souls’ was a reference to the Maidens, with the power being one soul and the Maiden herself being the other. Although, I assumed Ozpin was immortal, as in he’s the same Wizard from the tale, same body and everything. The fact that the book refers to him specifically wasn’t even in my mind and is purely coincidental, but I’m glad it did bc at least one part of my fic wasn’t debunked by canon.
