Okay I don't know WHAT was up with yesterday, but one of the many things that occurred:
- I was trying to write with a friend online, I called and she was typing cause my arms hate me
- we were doing dialogue and I was supposed to come up with a response to the typical polite greeting, 'hello, so nice of you to come, good to meet you' kind of deal
- I. COULD NOT.
- I was ABSOLUTELY STUCK IN CUSTOMER SERVICE MODE
- all I could think of was the first half where I ask the person how they are and the platitudes of helping them
- I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE PERSON RESPONDING
- I made sounds for a full minute at least, and then went back and read over things to try and get in the flow of conversation
- I kept getting more and more into my Customer Service Voice
- finally I cracked and just started laughing in frustration and told my friend I couldn't figure out what came next
- she was amused and helped me out by filling in the next platitudes
- AND THAT'S ALL IT NEEDED TO BE. 'Thank you for having me, pleasure to be here'
- THAT'S IT
- I have not worked in direct customer service in like 2-3 years
