Chabot College Ready to Help Heald and WyoTech Students
Students interested in furthering their education encouraged to meet with school counselors
(HAYWARD, CA) -- The recent closure of WyoTech in Fremont and Heald College in Hayward has left thousands of students searching for options. After investing their time and a significant amount of money into their education, students are now left with only debt and a transcript to account for the classes taken at these schools.
Chabot College understands that each student has goals that have yet to be met and the school wants students to know that Chabot is able to help them shift through their options and come up with a plan that best suits their educational target.
Just yesterday, Chabot provided six counselors at the Heald College site in Hayward to help dozens of students evaluate their options to continue their studies at Chabot. Chabot counselors provided college catalogs, class schedules, transfer degree information, counseling expertise and encouragement to each student.
“We provided significant community service for some of the most disenfranchised student,” said Chabot College Interim Vice President, Student Services Dr. Matt Kritscher. “Hopefully we were able to community that we are an open access, extremely low fee institution that has over 100 academic and career technical programs and you can start at Chabot and go anywhere in the world if you’re willing to work for it and engage with our faculty. Chabot College works with students from other colleges to request course substitutions and waivers as appropriate, and transcript review to determine what credits will transfer into Chabot in support of particular academic pathways.”
Chabot College offers online education, hybrid and short-term classes in addition to full-term and traditional course offerings to help meet student needs.
Students interested in learning more about Chabot College are encouraged to call the counseling center at (510) 723-7014.
