Dez grew up in as 'everything is car-accessible only' 'strip malls and fireworks stores' 'nothing to do but heroin and skeet shooting' Iacon exurb at the margin of the thousands of miles of corporate farmed soybean fields in the rest of the state, and she has a deep love for her white trash culture and the long haul truckers who taught her how to shuffle pool and eventually drive drugs and guns south to north, which served her well as an ancillary member of the Decepticons once she joined up (it was technically a 'join or get plowed under' sort of deal, but she was happy to get badged anyways.)

after her retirement a few decades later she went back to her old 'town' and put her organizational talent, connections, capital and impressive capacity for directed violence to work starting an interstate trucking company! Thunder Arrow is a successful outfit that employs about 50 people, most of whom live in trailers by the depot because the alternative is a terrible highway commute. It's a company town sort of situation where Dez leaves everyone to manage their issues between themselves (or god forbid, leozack), up to the point when the crew's arguments start causing her trouble and she lays down her absolute and unquestionable law. The only thing she tolerates less than annoying infighting is annoying outfighting (people trying to pick fights with her crew).

It's mostly an emails job... Dez prefer to be out in the warehouse or helping fix the company trucks or being out on the road eating slimjims and pissing in empty bottles. But someone's got to do the Boss thing. (although she would love to have some help with the paperwork...)
