i saw that post & was glad to see you commented near what i was thinking. i saw it disappear. i enjoyed the art they posted but just because they reposted the content with credit first doesn't entitle them to claim ANY ownership of it. nor does it justify using it as an excuse to be weirdly mean/racist. especially when they've been reposting without the artist's express permission anyway. imagine if the artists saw. yikes.
im glad i wasnt the only one lol. i feel like a rule of thumb is that if you feel you can scoff at someone calling you racist, you should stop and check if you’re being racist. and yeah, i found it funny that they felt ownership over finding other people's art. overall it was all really cringe white person behavior frankly. i hope they get over themself and apologize, or at least start reblogging donation posts or something, but i doubt they will.
reuploading it to tumblr actually doesn't bother me in this case since most of these people don't have social medias and explicit credit is given. i actually have a handful in my queue because i really enjoy some of the pieces they've uploaded.
