This is why my username is thecamelliablooms!! I was so inspired by how Dongbaek bloomed amidst all adversities she had experienced. I wanted to be as positive and strong as her. I even googled meanings behind the camellia flower and loved it too! It’s actually my personal tumblr account I created after watching WTCB (March 2020, so i’m a little late for the party) but this will be my first post about it!!!!

People have been wondering why this drama won alongside international faves. This drama is just different. No need for flashy OOTDs of the artists. No need for aesthetic places, Ongsan was already full of life because of the excellence of the artists. A lot of social issues were tackled. What I like the most is how they portrayed women as strong, independent and important people of the society. If you are a feminist, you’ll definitely love it! (Feel ko lang, hehe)

Gong Hyo Jin and Kang Ha Neul were both very natural. Their chemistry was undeniably superb despite the age difference! The story line was easily understood, well written and planned. Each episode gave light to each character and did not just focus on the two leads— Dongbaek and Yong sik’s mother, Pil-gu, Gyu-tae, Hyang-mi, Jong-ryeol, Ja-young, and even the strong women of Ongsan. Did you forget how many tears we’d shed on Episode 15 “Mother”???

Kang HaNeul was not Kang Ha Neul nor he is Wang Wook or any character he had played. He is Hwang Yong-sik! He deserves the award, periodt. Gong Hyo Jin, a very talented and versatile actress who also deserves all the love, respect and recognition! ❤️

When the Camellia Blooms deserves the Daesang!! Let us not argue and be happy!!!
