starring @wshyeonâ
if thereâs anything seojun hates more than heights (or in this case, water slides with a steep drop), it would be this: getting ignored. correction: getting ignored by hyeon. ever since the start of the music festival, hyeon had been avoiding him like the plague, barely looking him in the eye and bolting whenever he takes a step towards him or tries to exchange a word. seojun hates that hyeon isnât talking to him, and he hates that doesnât know why, but mostly, he hates that he cares. so much. too much. endless questions ran through this mindâdid he do something wrong? did he cross the line? (or whatever was left of it, anyway.) does he hate him now? why has he been losing sleep over this? and how can he put an end to it?
well, there happens to be one wayâhe has to get him alone. (which clearly serves as a challenge considering how minhoâs practically glued to him all day.) at this point, seojun doesnât hide the scowl on his face as he fixates his glare (which is really just a cover-up for his childish sulk beneath) on hyeon standing across from himâa noticeable distance away. it has been two days and heâs still not going to talk to him? seems like heâs in a good mood too, huh? yapping on about that stupid ride that no one else wanted to go onâoh. thatâs when it hit him. this is his chance to finally get him alone after two agonising days of getting blatantly ignored by the person he wanted to be around the most.Â
âIâll go on it.â he blurts out without a second thought, raising a hand and grabbing hyeonâs wrist with his other, before he could back out of it. âsince no one else wants to.â he quickly adds with a considerate smile to seal the deal. âweâll catch up with you guys later!â he says in a haste, dragging hyeon with him, away from the rest of the group. way to make it obvious but he really couldnât care less right then. after all, heâs even gotten himself into a high-speed, high altitude raft ride and whatâs that disclaimer? unsuitable for people with acrophobiaâwhat?!
unbelievable. the level heâs stooped to getting his roommate, friend, colleague, whatever-he-is-to-himâs attention. now, he canât even change his mind and make a u-turn, or mention his mild acrophobia because it would only land another blow to his pride and heâs not sure it could handle any more of that today. seojun was so preoccupied with self-reproach for his rash decision that he doesnât realise he was still gripping onto hyeonâs wrist, now a lot tighter than before, very likely a result of fear uncertainty creeping up on him. âwhy is the line so fucking long?â he grumbles under his breath, âand why have you been ignoring me the past few days?â he snaps, turning to face hyeon with a glare, one that softened when their eyes met.Â
